Confused about how to farm Fish Bones in Sea of Thieves? We have got you covered with this simple but effective guide.
Fishing for Fish Bones isn’t what a usual Sea of Thieves player would want to do. This item comes under Treacherous Plunder. However, let us warn you—earning your Fish Bones won’t be an easy task and will require some grinding.
The grind related to acquiring Fish Bones in Sea of Thieves is not about fighting off specific creatures or other pirates. Instead, you have to settle down in one place for long periods while the game grants you your plunder by chance. But how and where do you get these dead fish from? Let us help you find it out.
Finding Fish Bones in Sea of Thieves
One of the things that you have to keep in mind while fishing for Fish Bones is that your rod must not have any bait. This will make the process much easier. This also makes sense because the fish you are trying to catch are already dead, so having a bait doesn’t matter at all. So, if you have the bait on, it will only attract the live fish in the water and slow you down.

Now, all you have to do is locate a small and shallow body of water. No need to go around looking for the great sea. Instead, head to places like Shores of Gold. You will have to get to the small pool of water above the waterfall there. There will be some Treacherous Plunder there and Ashen Keys too. Just take out your rod, don’t equip it with a bait, and sit there until you have fished for Fish Bones to your heart’s content.
Using Fish Bones in Sea of Thieves
One of the ways you can use this scrap is if you deliver 50 pieces of Treacherous Plunder to the required spot. This will reward you with the title Hunter of Treacherous Plunder. This is one of the Hunter’s Call Commendations that players could pick up while up and about their daily business in the game.
If you have completed this commendation or don’t wish to work your way up to 50 junk finds, we suggest that you sell your Fish Bones instead. You can get to the Hunter’s Call Representatives at any Seapost. They will buy these dead fish from you for 15 coins. Not sure what they will do with it, though. But at least those bones won’t be your headache anymore.
Kindly take note that this is the base price for selling these bones. When I last checked, the Hunter’s Call did not have the Emissary Ledger, meaning there was no Emissary Value that could have been increased with an Emissary Flag.
