To get the Penumbral Armour in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must find the abandoned home just east of the Last Light Inn and unlock the opulent chest in the bedroom with the skeleton.
The Last Light Inn can be found on the western side of the Ruined Battlefield, across a bridge on its own protected island. Before you can enter you’ll have to convince Jaheira that you’re a friend. Or, at least a potential ally.
Then, once you are free to move around, follow the eastern edge of the island north until you come to a smaller, almost broken bridge. Directly across this bridge you will find the ruined home you are looking for.
Next, go inside and head straight into the bedroom. There will be a skeleton on the bed and to your right (south) will be an opulent chest. To unlock this opulent chest you’ll need to pass a 16 DC Sleight of Hand check. After you unlock it, you will find the Penumbral Armour inside!
How to Use Penumbral Armour in BG3?
The best way to use the Penumbral Armour in BG3 is by equipping it to a stealth class or build like Rogue. Additionally, this can be a good armour option for Astarion. In order to trigger the bonus passive you will have to make sure that your character is obscured. This will be an easier task during Act 2 in the appropriately named Shadow-Cursed Lands.
Have your Rogue sneak in stealth, keeping to the shadows as much as possible. With the Penumbral Armour, they can more easily stay hidden. Consequently, this will allow them to get into the best position for a stealth strike that initiates combat.
