Everything about The Amulet of Lost Voices in Baldur’s Gate 3
In Baldur’s Gate 3, The Amulet of Lost Voices is an accessory piece that any class or companion can use to gain access to the Speak With Dead spell. Speak with Dead is a Necromancy spell that allows the caster to speak with a corpse. Furthermore, while using the Amulet of Lost Voices does not use a spell slot, you can only cast Speak With Dead once per Long Rest.
When you use Speak With Dead, you are only allowed to ask the corpse five questions maximum. Furthermore, if the caster was the one to deal the killing blow to the target, then the body will not be willing to speak to you. However, this can be avoided by casting the Disguise Self spell beforehand.
Finally, be aware that enemies killed with Acid, Fire, Lightning, Necrotic, or Radiant damage will no longer have a mouth. Therefore, you cannot make them talk using Speak With Dead.

How to Get The Amulet of Lost Voices in BG3
To get The Amulet of Lost Voices in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must reach the Overgrown Ruins in Act 1, enter the Dank Crypt, press the button to enter the room with Withers‘ sarcophagus and open the Heavy Chest. The Overgrown Ruins are very easy to reach in Act 1 and are just north of the spot where you land on the Ravaged Beach after the Nautiloid ship crashes. You can enter by either lock-picking the locked door just up the beach. Or, killing the bandits up above and tricking the guard at the door to let you in.
Once inside the Dank Crypt, head all the way to the north end. This large, open room will have several dead skeletons all around. Head to the left of the statue and find the button on the side of the wall. You’ll have to press it to gain access to the secret room, but doing so will also awaken all of the skeletons. They will be hostile, so you will have to defeat them before going inside.
Afterwards, head into the room with the sarcophagus and you can loot The Amulet of Lost Voices from the nearby Heavy Chest.
How to Use The Amulet of Lost Voices in BG3?
The best way to use The Amulet of Lost Voices in BG3 is by keeping it in your inventory and not using it as a neck accessory for combat or part of a build. In nearly all cases, Speak With Dead is a spell you will only cast outside of combat. It is used during dialogue or story scenes to find out additional information from dead NPCs.
Consequently, this is a very useful spell and you will want to have access to it. However, since it provides not combat bonuses it’s best to keep it in your inventory and only switch out for it when needed.
