Minecraft has evolved throughout the years, and it continues to add new mobs with whom you can interact. However, in the latest update, Mojang decided to transform one of the most haunting mobs into a cute, controllable pet.

That mob is none other than the Ghast, a monster who roams in the Nether, waiting for the player. On sight, it will fatally attack you with its fireballs. If you’re wondering how to get the Happy Ghast, we have you covered. Here is everything you need to know about this mob in Minecraft.

Where To Find the Happy Ghast in Minecraft?

The Happy Ghast provides the players with an option to ride it, controlling its movement to go wherever they want. Unlike the Nether Ghast, this mob comes with a smile on its face instead of a frown.

To find it, you will have to create a Nether portal with Obsidian blocks. We have a detailed guide for it right here. Now, once you’re in the Nether, look for a Soul Sand valley. If you’re unfamiliar, the Soul Sand blocks let out a breathing sound when you step on them. In the valley, you can find a dried Ghast. However, you will have to explore every bit of the area since it can be hidden anywhere and doesn’t have specific spawn points. Once you have it, you can return to the real world through the portal you have crafted. The Dried Ghast doesn’t do anything in its initial form. However, you can make it alive by putting in a water block for a few minutes.

Additionally, a Dried Ghast can be crafted via the Crafting Table with eight Ghast Tears and one bone block. The pet now feeds on snowballs, which will allow it to grow extra fast and allow you to ride it.

How To Ride the Happy Ghast

To take complete control of the Happy Ghast, you will need to craft a harness with three leather, one wool block, and two glass blocks. Once crafted, you can lure it and place the harness. After the harness is placed, you can now ride with up to four players in total and control its movement.
