To obtain the Shelter Key, you need to get an S-rank in Tenna’s game show. Afterward, visit the Green Room to play the minigame in the S area. Once you are in the game, at first claim your sword from the cave. Next, eliminate some enemies to reach Level 2 so that you can remove the ferns.
Obtaining the Shelter Key in Deltarune
Once you get the special power of removing ferns, arrive at the lake and jump onto a raft to head toward the waterfall. Four ferns will block your way, so use the sword to remove them first. The raft will then take you to the river shore, where you will find another raft. Use this one to head northwest, and after a long journey, you will reach an area with white land.
Now, jump off the raft, move to the right, and turn left to arrive in front of a blue door, which can be unlocked via the Ice Key. Upon entering, you will encounter three enemies—eliminate them to increase your level, which is necessary for the further journey.
Continue straight and take a right to find four more enemies. Eliminating them can be difficult, as their attacks would quickly deplete your HP. After defeating them, continue taking down the enemies nearby to reach the maximum level.
Next, head to the upper right corner of the map to locate a Mage. He will help you on your journey. Once he joins you, your attacks will freeze the enemies into crystals. You will need to place these crystalized enemies at their designated corners to solve the puzzles.
Use the Mage to guide your way—if you are on the correct path, he will follow you. Keep solving puzzles until you reach another door. Unlock it via the Ice Key, and you will find complete darkness inside. Head north until you spot a small silver cross in the middle, i.e., the Shelter key.
