Wavemother’s Cloak offers specific type of elemental resistance and you can find it during Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3).
Wavemother’s Cloak
In Baldur’s Gate 3 the Wavemother’s Cloak provides specific types of damage resistance, but should be used carefully because it provides vulnerability to others. The single perk on this piece is called Damp Aegis. It’s effect is that once per combat turn, the cloak will grant the wearer Water Layer Protection until they take damage.
Water Layer Protection is a condition in BG3 which protects you from Burning. Moreover, it will increase your resistance to Fire damage. And given the amount of fire damage found in the game, this could be very helpful. But be careful. Because while it raises Fire resistance, it unfortunately lowers the wearers resistance to both Lightning and Cold damage, as well.
Aesthetically, this piece is clearly meant to pair with the Wavemother’s Robe. The Robe, in fact, offers increased resistance to Fire and Cold damage, thus potentially offsetting the decrease for the later. However, be cautious because you still want to avoid wearing this cloak into any fight with a lot of Lightning damage.

How to Get Wavemother’s Cloak in Baldur’s Gate 3
To get the Wavemother’s Cloak in Baldur’s Gate 3 you need to heads towards the far southwest of the City in Act 3 until you reach the Water Queen’s House. You can find it just south of the Steel Watch Foundry. The main entrance is a long courtyard like space with large ponds and fountains in the middle. Head all the way south until you come to a slightly raised platform in the center. Here you can turn left/east and head up some stairs. At the top will be a wooden door. There will be guards around the next couple of areas so it can be really helpful if you can make yourself Invisible before you head through. Or take a single sneaky character.
Just inside the door, turn left again. You find another set of doors which will take you across an interior little bridge. The doors on the other end of the bridge will lead you to a grandiose room with an Opulent Chest along the back wall. Take care that you aren’t see by anyone! Then you can open the chest and loot the Wavemother’s Cloak.
