In Genshin Impact, Clearance is an ability that enables you to explore specific areas and quests in the vast desert of Sumeru. If you do not have enough Clearance, you will get a red popup indicating that you do not have enough Clearance. This guide will cover everything you need to know to increase Clearance in Genshin Impact.

Increasing Clearance in Genshin Impact

You can gain initial Clearance by obtaining the Scarlet Stone Slate during the Lost in the Sands quest, which is set in the Aaru Village. To increase the Clearance further, you have to progress through the Golden Slumber and Dual Evidence quests in the following chronology:

• First Clearance: Golden Dream: The Secret of Al-Ahmar
• Clearance of Khaj-Nisut: Golden Dream: The Secret of Al-Ahmar
• Ferryman’s Clearance: At the start of Dual Evidence
• Second Clearance: Dual Evidence: Duat Hall
• Third Clearance: Dual Evidence: Place of Rebirth Trial
• Fourth Clearance: Dual Evidence: Place of Breath Trial

Here is how you can complete these sub-quests:

1. First Clearance: You can obtain the first Clearance in the sub-quest of Golden Dream: The Secret of Al-Ahmar. Head to King Deshret’s Mausoleum and obtain permission to access the top floor. Once you are at the top, open the coffin, and you will get the first Clearance.
2. Clearance of Khaj- Nisut: You will obtain this special Clearance while exploring the deep ruins of Deshret’s Mausoleum during The Secret of Al-Ahmar subquest.
3. Ferryman’s Clearance: To start the Dual Evidence sub-quest, you must complete the Golden Dream sub-quest. Once you begin the Dual Evidence questline, the Ferryman’s Clearance is automatically added to the quest menu.
4. Duat Hall: After a daily reset, start the Dual Evidence the next day. Then, use Stone Slate’s guidance to unlock the Clearance required for Duat Hall.
5. Place of Rebirth Trial: For this Clearance, guide the light from the Primal Ember to the underwater pillar.
6. Place of Breath Trial: This is the final Clearance and the easiest of the three puzzles in the Scarlet Stone Slate. Therefore, simply repeat the process of guiding the blue orbs back to their devices.

Once you have completed the Golden Slumber and Dual Evidence quests, you will have unlocked the Clearance needed to access further quests in the Sumeru region.
