Dune Awakening’s Arrakis is a massive map filled with secrets for you to discover around every corner. While the lure of secrets is certainly exciting, the idea of traveling to them may seem less so if you don’t have a vehicle. Your sandbike, therefore, is your lifeline in Dune Awakening, and boy, is it a fragile lifeline.

The weather in Arrakis is harsh, and the lands are frequently troubled by rabid storms. These storms are strong enough to sweep your sandbike away, and if you’re not careful, you run the risk of losing your vehicle.

The way Dune Awakening’s world works is that it continues to operate even after you log off. This means your sandbike isn’t safe even after you log off, and you need to protect it before you do so. Protecting your bike is important since crafting one requires a ton of investment, and looting one is a hassle. If you wish to protect your sandbike from storms, we’re here to help.

To protect your sandbike, you need to park it inside your base. This is the only way to save your bike 100% from the storms. Parking your sandbike in any open field will result in it being swept away. Since storms come and go even when you’re logged out, we recommend parking your bike back at base before you call it a day.

If you’re raiding an Imperial Testing Station as part of a quest, you’re likely to park your bike outside before heading inside the building. In such cases, you don’t have a base nearby. If this happens to be the case, we recommend parking your bike as close to a mountain as possible.

Mountains are likely to protect your sandbike from the storm, but this is not guaranteed, and there is a chance your bike may get swept away. Still, this chance is small, and it is a safer option than leaving your bike out in the open. If possible, try to complete the objective and then return to base before logging off. If that’s not possible, try to hide the bike between mountains or near large rocks for a chance to keep it safe.
