The Ender Dragon is the closest thing to the “Final Boss” of Minecraft. It is a powerful boss mob that spawns in the End dimension. Defeating this creature grants a huge sum of experience, a Dragon Egg, End Gateways that lead to End Cities, and the “End” Credits (get it?).

Defeating this creature is quite an adventure. But there exists only one Ender Dragon. And so, if you want to fight it again or simply want it around for aesthetic purposes, you’re out of luck, right? Well, it is actually possible to resurrect this boss and have it roam the End again. Here is how you can respawn the Ender Dragon in Minecraft.

Firstly, you will need four End Crystals. You will have to place these End Crystals on each side of the End Portal at the center of the End. One crystal must be placed at the center of each side of the portal.

Once all four crystals have been placed in the correct spots, they will point to the top of each obsidian pillar and reset all of the End Crystals to their original state. After this, the four crystals will point upwards and the Ender Dragon will respawn. At this point, the four crystals placed down will explode.

(NOTE: The End Portal will become unusable again until you kill the Ender Dragon, so make sure you’re ready for a fight)

End Crystals can only be obtained by crafting them. Crafting an End Crystal requires seven Glass, one Eye of Ender, and one Ghast Tear. Glass is obtained by smelting sand in a furnace. It can also be found naturally in woodland mansions or in ancient cities.

To craft an Eye of Ender, you will need one Blaze Powder and one Ender Pearl. Blaze Powder is obtained from Blaze Rods, which drop on killing Blazes. Finally, a Ghast Tear can be dropped when you kill Ghasts.

Lastly, the crafting recipe for the crystal is an Eye of Ender in the center, a Ghast Tear directly beneath it in the middle of the bottom row, and Glass in all other slots.

What Do You Get for Defeating the Ender Dragon Again

If you defeat the Ender Dragon again, it will not drop as much experience as the first time, only dropping 500 compared to the original 12,000. Additionally, every time you defeat the Ender Dragon, another End Gateway spawns somewhere around the island. There can be a total of 20 such End Gateways.

There is no limit to how many times you can respawn the Ender Dragon, so you can challenge it freely.
