Dune Awakening has a fully fleshed-out skill system, with five distinct skill trees to invest your skill points in. Each of the trees belongs to one of the five available classes in the game. While you’ll create your character by picking one class, you can still learn and unlock the abilities by investing in the other four skill trees. The freedom of spending your skill points doesn’t just end there. You can also respec and reassign the skill points that you’ve already spent.

In this guide, we’ll explore how you can respec skills in Dune Awakening. We’ll also take a look at situations where you should consider respecing your character.

The game makes it easy for you to respec skills whenever you want with minimal restrictions. Simply open up the skill menu, and you’ll see the Respec Skill Tree option at the bottom right-hand side of the screen. You can click on it or press R by default (on PC). This doesn’t require the use of money or any other resources. However, you can only respec once every 48 hours in real time. Other than that, there simply aren’t any restrictions on the number of times you can respec your skills.

Keep in mind that even after respecing skills, your starting skills based on your class choice will remain the same. For example, if your starting class choice was Trooper, you will still have the Shigawire Claw ability unlocked even after reassigning your skill points in that particular tree.

When Should You Respec Skills in Dune Awakening?

We suggest only respecing your skills once you have unlocked the skill trees for all five classes. This will enable you to mix and match your abilities to get the most well-rounded character. Also, you might need to respec when facing off against certain enemies or situations.

In specific situations, you might find the abilities of one class being more useful than the others. So, you can just respec and devote all your points to that class while taking on that particular challenge. Then, wait 48 hours, and you can go back to how your skills were assigned previously.
