If you are willing to form a romantic relationship with Bellara in Dragon Age: The Veilguard? Then, you need to check out this guide.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard offers romance options similar to any other games in the Dragon Age. Your protagonist, Rook, can romance any of the seven companions in The Veilguard. Bellara Lutare is one of your 7 companions, accompanying you on the journey through Thedas. Bellara Lutare, an elf-mage from the Veil Jumpers faction, can be recruited to your party while exploring Arlathan Forest during the ‘In Entropy’s Grasp’ quest.
Similar to Inquisition, you can choose from multiple options during your conversations. The dialogues you choose will affect your relationship with your companions both positively and negatively. Make sure to choose options that have a positive impact on increasing your bond with your companions. Choose the flirting responses marked with a heart to form a romance with the companion.
Here are the tips for how to romance Bellara in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

- Completing Bellara’s personal quests, such as Echoes of the Past, The Demon’s Bargain, and Hummingbird’s Lament, increases your bond with her and also helps you to understand more about her.
- Make sure to include Bellara in your party when you are doing any Veil Jumpers or NPC quests in Arlathan Forest.
- Respond positively and affectionately to Bellara when she opens up about her brother or when she talks about her favorite things, such as the ancient Elvhenan.
- Gift the Elven Frog Figurine to Bellara, which can be purchased from the Veil Jumpers Shop.
Key Dialogues with Bellara
Dialogues and the words of affirmation play a huge role in any relationship in real life. Similarly, the dialogues you are choosing in your conversation with Bellara have a huge impact on developing a romance with her in the game. Try to converse with her frequently after every mission and keep her engaged. Here are some key dialogues that show your interest in her, along with the quest where each dialogue is available:
- “You’re smart. You’ve got this” – The Smuggled Relic Case quest
- “I like your rambling” – The Smuggled Relic Case quest
- “You picked me!” – Echoes of the Past quest
- “For you? Anytime.” – Echoes of the Past quest
- “Keep being you” – The Siege of Weisshaupt quest
- “I know. I’m worried” – Fire and Ice quest
- “Back at you” – Fire and Ice quest
- “I’m here for you” – Hummingbird’s Lament quest
Key Moments with Bellara
All these efforts to make Bellara fall in love with you come into play in two moments that happen at the later part of the game. If you have chosen the wrong dialogue options at this stage, it ends your relationship with her. So approach them carefully. Here is how it works:
- Choosing the dialogue “It’s not, and I do like you” after completing the ‘Fire and Ice’ will change Bellara’s bond rank title from ‘Companions’ to ‘Shy Crush’. If you have chosen “I didn’t mean to lead you on,” that ends your romantic relationship with her.
- Changing the bond rank title to ‘Sweet Romance’ commits you to an exclusive relationship with Bellara. The flirting options with all other companions will be restricted after this point as you and Bellara are now officially committed. This can be achieved by choosing the dialogue “I’m sure” after completing the ‘Hummingbird’s Lament’ quest. On the other hand, choosing “Maybe not the best idea” ends your romantic relationship chance with her.
