Apart from the deep story mode of Genshin Impact, there is also a dedicated online multiplayer mode. This multiplayer mode enables you to explore the immersive world with your friends. There can be up to four players in the Online Multiplayer of Genshin Impact.
The online multiplayer in Genshin Impact unlocks when you reach the Adventure rank 16. To unlock the online multiplayer option fast, you must complete objectives and missions, and eventually earn Adventure points. In addition to the rank, you should be on the same server as the other player. Here is everything you need to know about online multiplayer in Genshin Impact.
Playing Online Multiplayer In Genshin Impact
Once you reach the Adventure rank of 16, you will see a circular disc icon for the co-op mode. Additionally, you can use the Paimon menu to access the co-op mode. There are two options in the online multiplayer mode:
- Join other’s world: In Genshin Impact, you can join the server of others. The beauty of online multiplayer lies in the fact that to play with another’s world, being a friend in the game is not a pre-requisite. As a result, you can take part in a friend’s world or a random player’s world.
- Host a world: Unlike the previous case, players can now request to join your team. When a player wants to join your team, a pop-up will appear in the permission tab, giving you 10 seconds to decide whether to accept or decline their request. Hosting a world is preferred, as only the host claims the prize from various chests.
Learn how to add and play with friends
Once you complete the one-time process of adding friends, you can see them on the Friends list whenever they are online. Follow these steps to add friends:
- Open the Paimon menu.
- Click on the Friends button, followed by Add Friends.
- Enter your Friend’s UID, and click on the green arrow to send a request.
- Once your Friend accepts the request, they will be added to your friend list.
In the online multiplayer of Genshin Impact, you can not join a world with a higher world level than yours. Additionally, if only two players are in the game, each player can bring two characters. However, with more than two players, you can only use one character. Moreover, you can not do story and side missions in online multiplayer.
