You can upgrade a Faction Store in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Check out this guide if you don’t already know how to do it.
Players will come across Faction Stores in Dragon Age: The Veilguard at certain Faction Camps. These stores are superior to other merchants in terms of the rewards they offer for selling Valuables and the gear that they offer.
Faction Camps also allow you to gain Faction Strength, which is important if you are aiming to get the best ending in the game. If you are there for gear, however, you need to level up the store to get better items to use in battle.
Whenever you visit a Faction Store, you have two options on your left, either to Sell or Buy something. On the right-hand side, you will see a separate window that lets you Rank Up the merchant. It is not that simple though. The process is the same whether you want to upgrade the Veil Jumpers, Antivan Crows, or any other Faction Merchant for that matter
You first have to gather the required materials for the job. The materials can be Gold, Heartwood, Pure Ore, Flawless Crystal, and Imperial Weave. These materials can be acquired from chests or by defeating enemies that drop them at random. You might also find them lying around on the floor at times when exploring Thedas.
Apart from this, go on Faction-specific quests, progress through the story, or sell Valuables to a specific Faction to gain Faction Strength or Loyalty. This is also required to Rank Up a Merchant besides the materials we mentioned.
Faction Store Isn’t the Only One You Need To Worry About
There are regular merchants, Faction Merchants, and The Caretaker who can help you with your gear requirements. The Caretaker, out of all of these, doesn’t sell new items. Instead, he is just there to upgrade your stuff. However, he has one extra feature to keep you coming back: Enchantment. It allows you to add a certain perk to your gear.
Although you can’t apply the same Enchantment on different gear items simultaneously to stack up the effect in question, you can always experiment by switching the Enchantment and applying it to some other item.
You have to Rank Up his workshop if you want to upgrade an already upgraded piece of gear. The only requirement for this is Mementos. Again, you can find these items in chests, while exploring, or when an enemy drops some loot.
You are now all set to Upgrade to whichever Faction Store you want.
