Read more to find out whether 2XKO is releasing on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, and if there will be cross-progression.

2XKO is available to play in early access from October 7, and players can access the game on PC. It is a fighting game with tag duo mechanics, letting you play with another player in a 2v2 setting. However, the game is currently only made available for PC players. This led the community to ask if 2XKO will be arriving on the PS5 and Xbox consoles in the future.
Fortunately, the game will be released on consoles in the future, although it is limited to PC as of now. As the game continues to develop, we may be seeing a console version upon full release.

When Is 2XKO Releasing on Console?

At the time of writing, 2XKO is only available on PC with no exact release date for consoles. However, the developer did reveal multiple times that the game will have a PS5 and Xbox release in the future.
The 2XKO Season 0 patch notes shared how the game will have cross-progression:
“The Season 0 update also confirms that the game is not yet coming to consoles. However, the progress made on 2XKO PC will carry over once console versions are live.”
This means console players can play on PC for the time being. Once the game releases on consoles, in-game progress will simply carry over to the console version.
In a separate post, Riot Games assured players that there will be a console release in the near future. We’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for more updates.
“We haven’t taken our foot off the gas in getting the game to console. Right now the team is focusing on the work that it takes to go from the console betas we shipped in Alpha Labs to a fully featured game. We’ll be sure to share major updates here.”

Will 2XKO Release on Previous-Gen Consoles?
There are no confirmations on whether 2XKO will release on previous-generation consoles. For now, the only consoles confirmed are PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S. Most modern fighting games still support last-gen consoles. Perhaps we may be seeing Riot Games following this format for 2XKO.
However, it might be more optimal if the developer focuses on optimizing the game on newer hardware. It is also a live service title, so focusing on current-generation systems could allow for smoother updates, better performance, and a more stable online experience.
