In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, some main quests require you to make important decisions with greater ramifications for the story as a whole. One such quest is Dancing with the Devil, which is the 23rd main quest.

The quest involves Henry and his allies planning an attack on Maleshov to capture Von Bergow. However, things don’t go quite as smoothly as planned, and multiple problems occur along the way.

Keep in mind that this quest involves a lot of combat, so prepare accordingly. Bring along strong armor and weapons and a gun as well. Moreover, bandages are sure to be helpful in this quest.

To start the quest, talk to Zizka at the Devil’s Den. After this, the meeting to plan the attack on Maleshov begins. Once the strategy is laid out, the game transitions to nighttime, and the attack is about to begin. At this point, Dry Devil proposes a diabolical plan.

He suggests setting the village on fire to distract the guards and sow chaos. You are given two options here: You can either go forward with the plan to burn the village, or you can refuse to murder the innocent. These two paths have diverging consequences.

Choosing to Burn the Village

If you decide to burn the village, Henry and his allies storm the village and engage in a chaotic battle. You may warn some citizens to escape before the flames arrive. After you defeat the first wave of enemies, you will also have to defeat the reinforcements who arrive afterward.

Choosing Not to Burn the Village

If you disagree with Dry Devil’s plan, then you must engage him in a duel. However, if you lose, you will be forced to go along with burning the village regardless. On the other hand, if you win, you will ensure a stealthier approach.

On the other hand, choosing not to burn Maleshov will positively impact the ending. Although the events themselves won’t change, people’s reactions to Henry’s actions will. Thus, saving Maleshov gets you closer to a better ending.

Regardless of the path you choose (or are forced to choose), the rest of the quest progresses the same way. If you choose to burn the village, this section of the quest will be easier, as some guards will be preoccupied with the fire. You will have to climb the ladder to the castle wall and open the first gate to let your allies inside.

After this, continue the assault with your comrades and defeat any enemies in the way. Once all the enemies are dead, talk to Zizka and Capon. Regardless of what you say here, they will negotiate with Von Bergow.

Negotiating with Van Bergow

When Zizka and Hans go to negotiate, it is revealed that Von Bergow is holding Lady Rosa as a hostage. The results of this negotiation will impact your relationship with Rosa, so make your choices carefully. Although the original plan was to burn the tower, no one was willing to go through with it anymore due to Von Bergow’s hostage.

You have two options here: You can negotiate with Von Bergow and convince him to come out with Rosa peacefully. Or you can choose to rescue Rosa and break-in, defeat the soldiers, and save Rosa. Regardless of what options you choose, you can not actually burn the tower, and threatening to do so will negatively affect your relationship with Rosa.

Regardless of the method, Bergow surrenders and enters your custody, and Rosa is saved.

That was a complete guide on the Dancing with the Devil quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
