Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, the highly anticipated follow-up to Warhorse Studios’ action role-playing game, is all set to release on February 4, 2025. Coming out six years after the initial release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the title looks to continue the story of Henry of Skalitz, the protagonist of the first game.
Just a couple of weeks prior to its launch, the studio has revealed a post-launch roadmap for the game and its content.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Roadmap Revealed
Here are some of the things that Warhorse Studio revealed in its roadmap plans for the title, with approximate timelines as well.
- Addition of a barber and hairstyles
- Launch of a hardcore difficulty mode
- New horse racing activities
- 3 different quests as part of the game’s expansion pass
Here is a detailed look at what was revealed and what you can expect.
1. Addition of a Barber and Hairstyles
The roadmap revealed that the studio aims to add a barber to the game sometime during Spring 2025. This will unlock several customizable hairstyles for Henry, allowing you to take control of how the protagonist looks.
2. Launch of a Hardcore Difficulty Mode
If you are looking to maximize the challenge in the game, the developers have revealed a plan to add a Hardcore Mode to the upcoming title. Players returning to the series might recall that the first game also included a similar Hardcore difficulty setting.
Besides increasing combat difficulty, the mode also turned off fast traveling and auto saves from quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Warhorse Studio may be planning to bring back these modifiers in their new release. However, there could be additional modifiers to impact the difficulty of the game too.
3. New Horse Racing Activities
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will also add horse racing sometime after launch. Developers said that taking part in these races would be a good way for players to hone their riding skills and “uncover hidden surprises.” However, they didn’t go into detail about what these surprises could entail.
3. Three Different Quests as Part of the Game’s Expansion Pass
While the barber, hardcore difficulty mode, and horse racing would be added through free updates, Warhorse Studios also unveiled their paid DLC plans in their roadmap. According to the studio, you can look forward to three distinct paid quest lines.
The first one, called Brushes With Death, will arrive in Summer 2025. In it, Henry will embark on an adventure with an unnamed artist.
The second paid expansion quest is titled Legacy of the Forge, and it is set to be released in Autumn 2025. This quest will see Henry delve deeper into the life of his adoptive father. You will also get the opportunity to repair the forge at Kuttenberg and master your blacksmithing skills there.
Mysteria Ecclesia is the final expansion quest that is planned to be launched in Winter 2025. Henry will infiltrate Sedletz Monastery during the mission and prevent a deadly illness from spreading.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Editions and Expansion Pass
The game has two distinct editions that you can preorder. The Standard Edition comes with the base game only. The Gold Edition of the game ships with the base game and the Expansion Pass.
Besides the three DLC quests, the Expansion Pass will also give you access to the Gallant Huntsman’s Kit and Shields of Season’s Passing. Both of these bring cosmetic upgrades for Henry.
A Collector’s Edition is also up for grabs and includes all the DLCs of the Gold Edition. Besides that, the Collector’s Edition will ship with a real-world Henry and Pebbles statue, a Cost of Valor Enamel pin set, The King’s rebels: collectable cards, an exclusive cloth map of the game, and a Letter of Hope.
