Scenario 1:
If the World Government issues an execution order for Luffy after he claims the position of Pirate King, Koby might take the responsibility upon himself to carry out the mission. As it is his duty, he may have something planned to indirectly save him. In this battle, Koby would try to warn Luffy, pushing him to escape rather than continue to fight. However, Luffy, true to his nature, would refuse to run away from the government’s pursuit. More than just a physical fight, this encounter would symbolize their first conversation, the one where they both spoke about following their dreams, no matter the cost.
Scenario 2:
This scenario is the only one where Koby might win. After the downfall of the Celestial Dragons and Luffy’s becoming the Pirate King, chaos will take over the world. The World Government will have to manage all this and will need a new leader. Koby would fight against Luffy to bring peace to the hearts of civilians. Luffy will put up a tough fight but will lose on purpose, and Koby will be declared the new leader. Moreover, we know that Luffy never wanted to be a hero. Koby will then bring justice to the land, and Luffy will rebuild the sea. The vibe of this battle would be similar to the fight Luffy had with Usopp.
Scenario 3:
Another fight could happen when Koby chooses to ignore the Marines so he can save Garp from Blackbeard and meets Luffy along the way. Luffy will be preparing to fight Blackbeard, who could be the current antagonist. After getting more intel from Koby that his grandfather is injured and imprisoned by Blackbeard, Luffy will get flashbacks of losing Ace and ask Koby to back down, as he cannot afford to lose anyone else.
It will be emotional because both boys look up to Garp. Koby will decline, saying he is strong now and can save Garp by himself, and if Luffy interferes, he will have to capture him and put him in jail.
Koby’s True Importance in One Piece’s Endgame
Many fans underestimate Koby, but he represents the new generation of Marines, determined to build a better future for civilians. His unwavering willpower caught Garp’s attention, leading to intense training that made Garp proud to have him as a student. Unlike many in the Navy, Koby stands as a true symbol of justice.
