Guardian Doshaguma Overview

The Gaurdian Doshaguma is an artificial monster created by an ancient civilization. This creature has been imbued with Doshaguma’s powers and mimics all the tricks of the original. This is bad news as the original is a pretty formidable boss in its own right. This horrifying construct rests in the Ruins of Wyveria. Much like the original Doshaguma it is based on, the Gaurdian variant is highly territorial and will attack you on sight if you encroach on its territory.
This artificial monster relies on fairly standard attacks such as slashes and ground smashes. The creature mixes and matches these standard attacks with new Guardian abilities, all of which deal a chunk of damage. As strong as this creature is, it is not without its Achilles heel. There are several weaknesses you can exploit to kill the Guardian Doshaguma.

Guardian Doshaguma Weaknesses

The Guardian Doshaguma may be a hulking figure capable of crushing you, but is not without its weaknesses. This creature is weak to Fire, Ice, Thunder, and Dragon-type elemental damage. In addition to that, physiologically, this creature shares the same weak spots as the original Doshaguma. Its head and forelegs are its weakest points, but the rest of its body is fairly vulnerable to damage as well. Its Tail Hair is the breakable part if you wish to target that.
If focusing on its head, we recommend using Bludgeoning damage as it deals the highest damage. If relying on Blunt or Shot damage, you can split the attention between the head and forelegs.

Guardian Doshaguma Weak Points
The Large Monster holds its head and forelegs as its main weak points. The head is highly vulnerable to Bludgeoning-type damage. If targeting the forelegs, you can rely on either of the Shot/Bludgeoning/Slashing damage types. We recommend exploiting the monster’s weaknesses to Fire, Ice, Thunder, and Dragon-type elemental damage when attacking its weak points in battle.
Best Weapons for Guardian Doshaguma in Monster Hunter Wilds
The Guardian Doshaguma is large and noticeably heavy. Due to its large size and weight, this creature moves fairly slowly most of the time. Hence, we recommend bringing a weapon that allows you to attack in quick bursts and get out of dodge before it locks in on you. The Dual Blades are perfect for dealing with the Guardian Doshaguma.
You can read its attacks, let them follow through, and then jump in for a fast combo and retreat before the next set of attacks. Break through its hide to expose the weak spots, and then rinse and repeat to get your victory.

How To Beat Guardian Doshaguma in MH Wilds

The Guardian Doshaguma follows the same few sets of attacks that the original Doshaguma did but does so with a twist. Each attack that the Guardian Doshagum does leaves behind crystals. These crystals explode when you hit them with any elemental attack, dealing large chunks of damage to the Guardian Doshaguma boss. Your slinger is perfectly suited for this task, so use it effectively.
This boss has a few attacks you need to be wary of. The first is a standard slash attack where the bear-like creature swipes away its large arms and attacks with its claws. This attack has a short range and only extends as far as the creature’s limbs. The second attack is a ground smash attack, where the monster stands up on its legs like a bear and then smashes the ground in a small AOE attack. While the AOE is small, the attack deals a chunk of damage so make sure to keep your distance when the monster gets on two legs. The boss will also do a short rush to bite and then maul an enemy on the ground.
Go too far, however, and the Guardian Doshaguma will not hesitate to charge toward you in fury. This charge attack has a short range but is deceptively fast and comes out of nowhere. The Guardian boss bites all that is in the way of the charge, dealing moderately high damage. While this attack is powerful, it is also easy to dodge. Dodge the attacks and try to target its legs to clinch victory.
Tips To Defeat Guardian Doshaguma
- The Guardian Doshaguma attacks fairly slowly and has a predictable moveset. Keep your distance and stay away from its mouth (and teeth) when fighting the creature.
- The monster has an acidic spit that will lower your defense and make its attacks more lethal. Use the Iron Skin armor skill to reduce the duration of your defense. If you level up this skill all the way up to Level 3, you can prevent defense down entirely.
- The crystal residues left behind by the Guardian Doshaguma’s attacks are explosive in nature. Detonate them by slinging pods to deal large chunks of damage to the Large Monster.
- The boss is capable of healing itself by absorbing energy, so be relentless with your attacks so it does not have a chance to do so.
