How To Beat Chatacabra in Monster Hunter Wilds

Learning Chatacabra’s attack patterns will make defeating it easier, allowing for a smoother early-game experience. This monster doesn’t have a wide attack variety, with most of its attacks tied with its tongue and forelimbs.
It uses its tongue to perform a swipe attack or charge attack, which you need to dodge. Apart from its tongue attacks, Chatacabra raises its fist for slamming and leaping attacks, which can cause significant damage. Be sure to dodge or step back to avoid the damage. Chatacabra’s adhesive saliva attracts ores and other stones to its forelimbs. It strengthens the monster by providing a layer of armor and increasing its melee attack damage.
Tips To Defeat Chatacabra
- Always watch out for its tongue and forelimbs to stay ahead of the monster.
- Wait for Chatacabra to launch its tongue attacks and hit back after the attack or when it becomes tired.
- Its weak points, the tongue and forelimbs, appear in its front. Stay aggressive and position yourself in front of the monster to deal consistent high damage.
- Destroying its forelimbs is a key strategy, as it removes its advantage (armor and strength) while increasing damage against its limbs.
- When striking its forelimbs, watch out for its sudden tongue attacks and bites, where the former can cover a large area.
- If you want to experiment with different weapon playstyles in a real-time battle rather than practicing on a dummy (training area), Chatacabra is a great opportunity to test your skills. This allows you to master the weapon while also learning the attack patterns of Chatacabra.
