This guide explains how you can unlock Lagiacrus hunts in Monster Hunter Wilds TU 2 after completing the Trembling Blue Currents quest.

Monster Hunter Wilds TU2 finally brings in the much-awaited and fan-favorite leviathan, Lagiacrus. However, before you find this monster in normal hunts, you must complete its relevant story mission called Trembling Blue Currents. It is a straightforward quest, but you need to capture Lagiacrus instead of defeating it here.
The Lagiacrus quest is tied to Erik, who will also be your handler for this one instead of Alma. In this guide, we will explain how you can complete the Trembling Blue Currents quest in Monster Hunter Wilds and unlock Lagiacrus hunts.
Monster Hunter Wilds: How To Unlock Lagiacrus Quest (Trembling Blue Currents)
As mentioned, you need to complete the Trembling Blue Currents quest first before you can unlock Lagiacrus in Monster Hunter Wilds. Here are the steps to complete this quest:
- Head to the Scarlet Forest Base Camp and talk to Erik.
- Follow Erik and investigate the clues.
- Fight and capture Lagiacrus.
Here is a more detailed overview of all the steps:
Head To The Scarlet Forest Base Camp and Talk To Erik

To start the Trembling Blue Currents quest in Monster Hunter Wilds, head to the Scarlet Forest Base Camp in Monster Hunter Wilds and talk to Erk. Alma will not be your handler for this quest, and Erik will fill in instead. He should be opposite your tent and will be easy to find. The two of you will then head to the Scarlet Forest region and talk to the local villagers, including the Wudwuds.
You will come to know that an agitated Red Wyvern (Rathalos) has been going rampant, which has caused severe problems for everyone. As such, you and Erik will head over to investigate this case.
Follow Erik and Investigate the Clues

You will automatically follow Erik on your Seikret during this phase of the Trembling Blue Current quest in Monster Hunter Wilds. You will come across several Rathalos markings, including claw scratches and burn marks. Interact with all of these to collect all the clues. Eventually, you will come across some electrocuted monsters, including one electrocuted Dalthydon.
As you investigate, the agitated Rathalos will swoop down to take its prey, and soon a thunder-spewing Lagiacrus will emerge to drive Rathalos away.
Fight and Capture Lagiacrus

For the final stage in the Trembling Blue Currents quest in Monster Hunter Wilds, you must capture Lagiacrus and not kill it. Erik will be visibly excited with Lagiacrus’ appearance in this new habitat, and the Hunter will offer to capture it instead of killing it. As such, you must ensure that you carry Pitfall Trap and tranquilizing agents (like the Tranq Bomb) for this quest.
Fight the monster till you see its skulling, and then prepare to lay down your trap. You can use a Ghillie Mantle to hide yourself and place a trap directly at Lagiacrus’ feet. Once the monster is caught, simply throw two Tranq Bombs and capture it. This will also conclude the Trembling Blue Currents quest in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Note that if you defeat Lagiacrus, the quest counts as a failure. In this case, you will also fail to unlock Lagiacrus as an investigation or a normal hunt. As such, you will have to redo the hunt from the beginning and catch Lagiacrus to finally end this quest and unlock this monster.
