MrBeast shows interest in buying TikTok following reports of a potential US ban, sparking speculation about the platform’s future.
After speculations about TikTok getting banned from the United States have been raised, many have expressed their eagerness to buy the platform. Amongst them, YouTube Megastar MrBeast has expressed his interest in purchasing the social media platform. On January 14, 2025, MrBeast tweeted on X, announcing his intention to buy TikTok to prevent it from being banned.
For context, the U.S. government has expressed national security concerns over TikTok’s Chinese ownership. If an American entity acquires TikTok, it could potentially prevent a U.S. ban.

Elon Musk has emerged as the top contender for the bid, with Chinese officials reportedly favoring him as the buyer for the platform. Another business tycoon and popular Shark Tank investor, Kevin O’Leary, has also expressed interest in owning the platform. Kevin emphasized his goal to transform TikTok into the biggest platform in the world and to reintroduce it in countries where it was banned, such as India and Jordan. With many heavyweight contenders for the bid, fans think that MrBeast does not stand a chance.
MrBeast currently boasts over 107.8 million followers and a whopping 1.1 billion likes on TikTok. He frequently uploads content on his TikTok, featuring skits and clips. He recently collaborated with TikTok’s top creators and viral trends. The video featured viral trends like the Rizzler, Costco Guys, TikTok Rizz Party, and the Chick-Fil-A Sauce Girl.
Jimmy has recently encouraged fans to share clips of his Prime Video show Beast Games and clips from his YouTube content. Notably, reports value TikTok at over $50 billion. Fans also pointed out Jimmy’s net worth of over $500 million and questioned how he plans to buy the platform.

Many users have commented on his net worth, while others pointed out how Elon Musk and other contenders would not be happy. A user also suggested that MrBeast should partner with Elon Musk to buy the platform.
