‘Tears of the Savior’ is a quest in Oblivion Remastered that rewards you with powerful potions and a unique alchemy ingredient even before the final task is completed. It begins in the Leyawiin Mages Guild and leads you to the icy depths of Frostfire Glade, where rare magical crystals known as Garridan’s Tears lie hidden.

How To Complete the Tears of the Savior Quest in Oblivion Remastered
Getting Started
To begin ‘Tears of the Savior,’ speak with S’drassa (Khajiit) at the Leyawiin Mages Guild. He will excitedly task you with obtaining Garridan’s Tears, magical crystals found in Frostfire Glade. To learn more about how to obtain them, he will point you toward Julienne Fanis at the Arcane University.
Arcane University and Knightfall
Travel to the Arcane University in the Imperial City and find Julienne Fanis in the Arch-Mage’s lobby. You do not need to be a member of the Mages Guild to access this area. Julienne Fanis reveals that a book called Knightfall has information on the crystals. Head to the First Edition bookshop in the Market District and purchase Knightfall. Read the book to learn that the crystals are located in the Frostfire Glade, which is only accessible via a door opened by Refined Frost Salts. Speak with Julienne Fanis again and purchase at least one sample of Refined Frost Salts from her.
Frostfire Glade
To prepare for the bitter cold environment and frost damage-dealing enemies, you can speak with S’drassa, and he will provide you with 5 potent Resist Frost potions called Philter of Frostward. Travel to the Frostfire Glade located northeast of the Imperial City, near Fort Horunn to the southwest. Fight through a few enemies to reach the secret door. Unlock the door using Refined Frost Salts. Inside, the quest’s boss, a leveled Frostfire Atronach Gladelord, awaits.
Frostfire Atronach Gladelord
The Frostfire Atronach Gladelord is immune to frost and poison damage but weak to fire. Before engaging him in combat, equip fire spells or weapons enchanted with fire damage if you can, and drink a Philter of Frostward to reduce damage from his frost attacks. You can also stand atop the rock at the glade’s center to stay out of the atronach’s reach.
Finding Garridan’s Tears in Frostfire Glade
Orient yourself to face the central rock to the east. Head straight, look at the base of the rock, and you will find a Garridan’s Tear nestled next to the spire on the left. Climb up on the rock to find another tear near the top. Back away and circle the rock from the left side, looking closely at the ground as you do so. Halfway around, you will find another Garridan’s Tear. Continue circling, and the third Garridan’s Tear will be behind the rock. As you near the rock’s southern side and almost complete your orbit, the final tear will be on the ground ahead of you. Use a torch, a Light spell, or Night-Eye to aid in your search.
Reward
Head back to S’drassa and speak with him to receive between 500 and 2,500 gold, depending on your level. Congratulations, you have completed the Tears of the Savior quest and are free to use any leftover Philter of Frostward potions and Refined Frost Salts to aid you in future adventures.
