Does Oblivion Remastered Come With All DLCs?

Oblivion Remastered revives Bethesda’s classic RPG with updated visuals, but what exactly is included, especially when it comes to DLCs?

Thinking of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Bethesda’s 2006 open-world RPG, usually brings back fond memories of tone-deaf NPCs, ridiculous quests, and an endlessly convoluted storyline. The beloved, nostalgia-inducing title is now available with modernized graphics and new questlines, thanks to Bethesda’s shadow-dropping Oblivion Remastered across all supported platforms following several leaks. The original 2006 game was followed by several paid DLCs and expansion packs, but will those be included in the remaster?

Thankfully, the base version of Oblivion Remastered has all of Oblivion’s DLCs and expansion packs. However, a few new quests and items only appear in the Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition. Let’s take a closer look at all of the original game’s DLCs featured in the remastered version:

1) Knights of the Nine

Knights of the Nine is an expansion pack that includes a questline surrounding the sorcerer-king Umaril and the Divine Crusader’s relics. The main quest tasks the player with eliminating the sorcerer-king by using the relics against him. Beyond its primary quest, the expansion features new characters, dungeons, spells, and creatures. Most of the expansion’s NPCs appear in the cult of the Nine Divines, which players can join as a faction.

2) Shivering Isles

Shivering Isles is a massive expansion to the original game that introduces the eponymous new land, ruled over by the Daedric prince Sheogorath. The map comes with its own questlines, monsters, armor, and spells. Its main quest involves assisting Sheogorath against an ominous threat: the Greymarch.

3) Minor DLC Updates

From its release in April 2006 to October 15, 2007, Bethesda introduced numerous DLCs that included updates to faction-specific houses, new spells, and unique dungeons. Now, these are all part of the base Oblivion Remastered.

Content Exclusive to Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition

Bethesda added a few new quests and items to Oblivion Remastered, but locked them behind the game’s Deluxe Edition. Completing the new quests unlocks unique weapons, horse armor sets, and Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon armors. In 2006, Bethesda faced criticism for its first DLC, which locked relatively minor horse armor behind a paywall. Perhaps with a wicked sense of humor, they have mimicked the monetization move once again with the Deluxe Edition.
