As you can see on the map above, Fort Rayles is very close to the town of Chorrol. You’ll probably go to Chorrol after visiting Weynon Priory for the main story mission early on in the game. Head to the northwest of Chorrol to find Fort Rayles. It is nestled high up in the Colovian Highlands.

As always, if you’ve already been past it and discovered the location previously, you can easily fast travel to it by clicking on the Fort Rayles marker on the in-game map.

What To Do Inside Fort Rayles in Oblivion Remastered?

We’d suggest visiting the fort when you’re at Level 17 or higher, especially if you’re interested in spellcasting and alchemy. Inside the fort, you’ll come across two statues with gates on the left and right locked tight. To open both of these gates, you’ll need to hit the blue crystal on the heads of the two statues. You can equip a bow and fire two arrows at the blue gems. Hitting them will open the gates and allow you to proceed further in.

If you’re at level 17 or above, you’ll find several master alchemy tools inside. You’ll also have to face off against spellcaster foes inside this location, with most of them being conjurers. With the ingredients and the alchemy tools you get from Fort Rayles, you can easily start making some of the best potions in the game.

Also, if you need more of an item you collected from the fort, all you have to do is wait. All dungeon loot and enemies reset upon 72 hours of in-game waiting. So, you can simply wait and clear the fort as many times as you want or until you have farmed enough of the ingredients you need.
