In Pokemon TCG, some decks are more consistent than others. These decks consist of cards that work well together and are capable of handling most of the meta by themselves. So, in this guide, we will look at the best decks to use in the Pokemon TCG meta.

The Best Decks To Use in the Pokemon TCG Meta

The following decks have been used to win tournaments and have seen high usage overall:

  • Gardevoir ex
  • Dragapult ex
  • Gholdengo ex
  • Raging Bolt ex
  • Charizard ex

1) Gardevoir Ex

Gardevoir ex is arguably the best deck in the meta right now. It is even the current World Champion deck as of 2025. Gardevoir ex uses its ability, Psychic Embrace, to attach all the Psychic Energy requirements for itself and its allies, letting the deck play very aggressively. What makes this deck so consistent is the fact that it keeps acquiring new allies with each expansion. In the last expansion, Jellicent ex was added to Gardevoir ex decks to provide Item lock support. Even the upcoming expansion has Mega Diancie ex, which is already a vital card for Gardevoir ex decks in Japan.

2) Dragapult Ex

Dragapult ex is one of the more powerful decks in the meta. Thanks to its move Phantom Dive, not only does it deal 200 damage to the opponent’s Active Pokemon, but it also lets you put six damage counters on their Benched Pokemon in any way you like. This sheer level of damage output, for only two Energy, makes it harder for other decks to compete with it.

3) Gholdengo Ex

Gholdengo ex was a deck that saw the highest usage at Pokemon Worlds 2025. A lot of this is due to the addition of Genesect ex from the Black Bolt and White Flare expansion, which helped this deck play a lot more aggressively. The plan with this deck is to discard multiple Basic Energy from your hand to power up Gholdengo ex’s Make It Rain. Each Basic Energy discarded this way adds 50 more damage. So six or seven Basic Energy discarded this way will KO most Pokemon ex in the meta.

4) Raging Bolt Ex

Raging Bolt ex works similarly to Gholdengo ex. Its move Bellowing Thunder requires you to discard Basic Energy attached to your Pokemon. Each Basic Energy discarded this way does 70 damage. It’s often paired with Teal Mask Ogerpon ex, who can attach Energy to itself so that Bellowing Thunder can reach the necessary damage output.

5) Charizard Ex

Charizard ex was a surprise dark horse that did well at Worlds 2025. This card works well with Pidgeot ex who can find the exact card you need each turn, depending on how the game progresses. Charizard ex becomes more powerful with each Prize your opponent takes. While its move Burning Darkness deals 180 damage for only two Basic Fire Energy, with each Prize your opponent takes, it does 30 more damage.
