Ideal Starting Hand
You want Solrock and Lunatone in your opening hand. Solrock can only deal damage when Lunatone is on the playing field, but 70 damage for a single Fighting Energy makes it an excellent lead. Similarly, Lunatone can only draw more cards if Solrock is in play. It does so by discarding a Fighting Energy from your hand to draw three cards. Those Energy will later be used by Mega Lucario ex.
Best Mega Lucario Ex Deck in Pokemon TCG: Key Cards
Here’s the strategy for this deck:
- Mega Lucario ex is the main attacker of this deck. Its first move, Aura Jab, does a decent chunk of damage for a Basic Fighting Energy. However, it also serves as an Energy engine, attaching up to three Fighting Energy to your Benched Pokemon.
- Its second move, Mega Brave, is a finisher that needs to be used carefully. Mega Brave does 270 damage but cannot be used on consecutive turns.
- Hariyama is a powerful secondary attacker, with Wild Press dealing 210 damage at the cost of high recoil. It can also gust away the opponent’s Active Pokemon thanks to its ability Heave-Ho Catcher when it is played for the first time.
- Fighting Gong is useful to get an extra Basic Fighting Energy or a Basic Fighting Pokemon.
- Premium Power Pro adds 30 more damage to any attack used by a Fighting-type Pokemon. Additionally, playing multiple of these stacks damage.
