Unfortunately, REPO doesn’t currently support controllers. So, you will need to rely on a mouse and keyboard to play the co-op horror game. However, since it’s an Early Access title, semiwork might choose to add controller support through a future update at some point.

In this article, we’ll familiarize you with the mouse and keyboard controls of the game, allowing you to play even with the lack of support for a controller in REPO. We’ll also explain how you can force controller support in the game using Steam.

Some REPO players report that they were able to add controller support using Steam Input. While you can try this out, there is no guarantee that the method will work for everyone. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Step 1: Open Steam and right click on REPO in your Steam Library section.
  • Step 2: Go to manage followed by Controller Layout.
  • Step 3: Enable Steam Input for the game. Do this step while your controller is plugged in.
  • Step 4: Launch the game.

If this doesn’t work, we’d recommend quickly learning the control scheme for the game on mouse and keyboard.

REPO doesn’t involve complicated controls, even if you aren’t used to playing games using a mouse and keyboard. So, it can be easy to pick up all the controls in the game without missing your controller too much. The following list explains the controls in the game:

  • W – Move forward
  • A – Move left
  • S – Move back
  • D – Move right
  • Ctrl – Crouch
  • Spacebar – Jump
  • Shift – Sprint
  • Q – Tumble
  • Left click – Grab an item
  • Right click – Rotate the item
  • Mouse scroll up – Push an item away
  • Mouse scroll down – Pull an item toward you
  • Tab – Open map
  • E – Interact
  • 1, 2, 3 – Use items in the first, second, or third inventory slot, respectively
  • T – Open chat

As you can see, the game has extremely simplistic controls that you can easily pick up in just a few minutes. It is possible that a creator might release a mod that adds controller support to REPO sometime in the future. But, for now, you can only experience the game on a mouse and keyboard.
