The game instills the importance of gathering resources through the early game quests, and one such quest sees you out on the hunt for deer antlers.
After the Wise Old Man sets you off to hunt deer and acquire antlers, you’re on your own. You have to head out into the wild and hunt these nimble creatures on your own. As the name suggests, you get deer antlers from deer. These are the large horns atop a deer’s head, and you need to hunt a deer if you wish to acquire one. Hunting deer requires you to be stealthy and precise with your strikes. Any mistake could alert the animal and send it fleeing.
The first thing you need if you wish to hunt a deer is to get a bow. A bow allows you to kill the deer from a distance without ever alerting it to your presence. Naturally, you have to be precise with your shot, as a miss would send it running. If you don’t have a bow yet, you can craft the Ash Shortbow at the Crafting Table using 3x Coarse Thread and 12x Ash Logs. You’ll require arrows for your attack too, so craft arrows with 1x Stone, 1x Ash Log, and 1x Feather.
Armed with the bow and arrow, it is time to hunt the deer. Head over to Bramblemead Valley to find the deer. This area is abundant with deer, and they’ll be easy to find. Pick the deer you wish to hunt and approach it slowly. Pull out your bow and kill the deer with one well-placed shot and get the deer antlers.
