Schedule 1 starts off fairly somber, but things quickly take a turn for the worse as you run into a cartel. After months of buildup, the cartel is finally here, and there’s a ton of new cartel content that you can now start and experience in the game’s latest update.

The cartel content in Schedule 1 brings you face to face with members of the Benzies cartel family, who are now your rivals in the story. They run this city and have dealers all across, and over the course of the cartel content, you can either work with them or take over their city by force. If you’re wondering how to start the new cartel content in Schedule 1, keep reading to find out.

You unlock the cartel content in Schedule 1 automatically once you reach the Westville area. This is fairly early on in the game, so you won’t have to wait long till you run into the cartel. As soon as you reach Westville, you’ll receive a text from Thomas Benzies, a member of the cartel.

Thomas will present you with a business proposition and will request you to meet him at the Taco Ticklers parking lot. You’ll then be presented with a choice to work with the cartel or go up against them. Making your choice will then unlock the cartel content, and you can experience the story from then forth.

Should You Join the Cartel in Schedule 1?

Once you visit Thomas in the parking lot, he will offer you a once-in-a-lifetime chance to work with the cartel. If you accept, you’ll surrender half of your earnings from then on to the cartel. You’ll have to make products for them every week, and you’ll essentially be a cog in the cartel wheel.

If you refuse the offer, you’ll essentially declare war on the cartel. They’ll take severe offense to your refusal and will attack you whenever possible. You will then have to contend with cartel members and cartel dealers, both of which will try and disrupt your business.

While joining the cartel seems like the wiser choice, we recommend refusing the offer and declaring war. This is a more exciting prospect, and you get to take over the city, region by region. The gameplay loop, too, will be more challenging, but it is more fun throughout.
