Schedule 1 is the sensational crime simulator that takes place in a grungy West Coast city of Hyland Point. Among the various mysteries and controversies in Hyland Point, the most notable one is Benji’s undercover status. While there are no official claims, many players believe that Benji is a cop who plays an undercover role to eradicate illegal activities in the city.

Rumors build up around the dealer, and players have already made up controversial theories about him. But is Benji really an Undercover Cop in Schedule 1? Let’s answer the question and explore what sparked the debate in the first place.

Exploring the Cop Controversies Behind Benji in Schedule 1

Benji Coleman is one of the early dealers you gain access to in Schedule 1. In fact, he is the first dealer unlocked who actually teaches you the basics surrounding street-level operations, and remains a key NPC as you expand your drug business. Then you may wonder why such a controversy has built up around a loyal dealer.

It all starts with a random cop who appears during raids and patrols. He shares many similarities with Benji’s looks, such as eyes, beard style, and even having the same stance.

Many players also claim that Benji tends to appear early morning or evening, particularly after the raids, which causes them to raise their eyebrows. His vague job title, along with a lack of details around his supply lines, also adds fuel to the controversy.

Is Benji Actually an Undercover Cop in Schedule 1?

Considering all the above-mentioned claims, it’s certainly possible that Benji could be an undercover cop. But ultimately, it’s up to the decision of the developers. So far, there are no pieces of evidence or confirmation about Benji’s undercover cop status, despite the claims and controversies.

Benji is a dealer found in the Motel room and can deal with up to eight customers. The similarities in the appearance of Benji and the said cop may be because of the reuse of the character model. It is understandable that creating various models for all NPCs is difficult for an indie game.

Still, that has not stopped players from spinning their own theories, with some claiming that the cop may be Benji’s father or brother. Until the developers confirm or deny the speculation, this mystery remains wide open.
