In this guide, we’ll explore in detail how you can begin and finish the Searching for Answers quest in Dune Awakening.

Dune Awakening has quite a bit of endgame content, with a whole epilogue questline that you must complete to bring the lot to an end. One of the final missions in this epilogue questline is the Search for Answers. In this quest you will need to infiltrate the Old Carthag ruins with the rebel leader, Zantara.
The primary goal here is to finally solve the mystery of the Sleeper. In this guide, we will explore how you can begin the Search for Answer quest in Dune Awakening and what you need to do to complete it successfully.
How To Start the Search for Answers Quest in Dune Awakening

To start this quest, you will have to head to Harko Village and meet with Zantara. The quest only triggers when you’ve completed all other main story quests up until this point. When speaking with Zantara, tell him that you’re ready to head to the Old Carthag ruins. A cutscene will begin where you will head to the ruins inside an Ornithopter alongside Zantara.
Talking to Zantara and telling her you’re ready will lock you into this quest. So, make sure you are well prepared for the quest ahead. The cutscene will end with you dropping from the Ornithopter. Follow the path until you reach an enormous rotating fan that blocks the way forward. You will need to somehow disable it to proceed.

Your first order of business is to switch off the fan so that you and Zantara can drop down below. To do this, jump across the powered fan, with your first jump taking you to the platform on top of the fan and the next jump taking you to the other side. Follow the pathway, and you should find a console that controls the fan’s power. Hold down E to switch off the fan, and then rejoin Zantara as both of you drop down.
Note: If you haven’t brought a Cutteray along with you, you can find a Makeshift Cutteray in the fan section, alongside some Makeshift Battery. Make sure to take these if you don’t have another Cutteray, as you’ll need the tool during this quest.
After dropping down the ventilation shaft, you and Zantara will get separated for a while. During this time, you will have to break through some doors using the Cutteray. As the quest progresses, Zantara will reveal that this base isn’t a Harkonnen operation, but something far worse.
Soon, you will reach an irradiated room and a container with some Iodine Pills. You will also find an ID band that’ll let you proceed through the Pentashield and further into the base. As soon as they cross the barrier, a cutscene will play, immediately after which you will faceoff against a Tlielaxu Gholas enemy. You will fight several other enemies from this group, some of whom are agile attackers, while others are brutish and can take more damage.
We recommend using a shotgun to take care of these close-quarters enemies, especially since they don’t have shields. Then, move through the halls and pick up the occasional healing kits. You can also listen to a few recorders here to find out more about the present situation.

Taking Down the Ghola Horde
On your way to the lab, you will reach another door that you can blast through using your Cutteray. But, as soon as you do this, an alarm will go off and a Tlielaxu Ghola horde will start attacking you. Your best bet here is to unleash area-of-effect attacks, such as the Assault Seeker skill for the Trooper class.
Keep in mind that there are multiple waves of enemies. In the case of the second, third, and fourth waves, enemies will spawn on both sides of the arena, making the encounter even more challenging. Keep fighting until Zantara sends you the all-clear message. As soon as this happens, you will be able to get through the Pentashield and new enemies won’t spawn any longer.
Exiting the Base
After the horde section, you will need to move through some more locked doors by using your Cutteray on them. Watch out for a few straggling Gholas, which shouldn’t be a problem after the horde challenge. Next, you’ll meet up with Zantara again, and a cutscene reveals why you were sent to the planet in the first place. As the cutscene ends, the base is on the verge of collapse, and you’ll have just 90 seconds to get out.
You will find another horde of enemies while trying to find an exit. Make sure you do not engage with it. Instead, simply run along the path until you reach the Ornithopter. Approaching it within the time limit will complete the quest. As a reward for completing the ‘Searching for Answers’ quest in Dune Awakening, you will get Zantara’s Crysknife, which is the quickest melee weapon in the game. You will also get XP, and you can proceed to the next stage of the Epilogue once you return to Zantara’s base.
