Blood Merlot in V Rising is an improved version of the Blood Potion. It allows players to maintain their blood type.

Different blood types are an essential mechanic of V Rising. Players can consume various types of blood to gain certain buffs and perks in the game. The developers added Blood Merlot to this survival RPG to help players maintain their blood type. It is also an improved version of the Blood Potion and is more economical.
However, to craft Blood Merlot, you will have to defeat a boss to unlock its recipe. In this article, we will talk about it in detail.
How To Obtain Blood Merlot Recipe in V Rising

As we discussed briefly, players will have to defeat Baron du Bouchon the Sommelier to unlock the Blood Merlot recipe in V Rising. This particular boss is a level 70 V Blood Carrier. He usually roams inside the main processing building in the Brighthaven Vineyards. Additionally, this place is located in the Silverlight Hills. However, due to the presence of numerous strong enemies, such as Knights and Paladins in that area, we highly recommend that you reach a high gear level before venturing there.
Once the Baron is defeated, you will get various rewards, including Rural Garden Fencing, Barrel Disguises, Tier 2 Blood Spell Point, and the blueprint for Blood Merlot and Blood Merlot Amulet.
How To Craft Blood Merlot in V Rising

Players must follow some specific steps to successfully create a Blood Merlot. First, you will have to build a Prison Cell in your Castle. After that, you will need to get hold of an enemy by using the Dominate Human Vampire Power. Then, simply lock the prisoner up and interact with the Prison Cell to open the crafting menu. You will notice Blood Merlot among various other options in that menu. However, to craft it, you will need an Empty Glass Bottle and Sacred Grapes.
The Sacred Grapes are located in the Brighthaven Vineyard, and players will be able to obtain the Empty Glass Bottle from a Furnace. As we mentioned earlier, Blood Merlot is an enhanced variant of the Blood Potion.
It is beneficial because it consumes less blood from the victim or the prisoner, and they suffer from less Misery. This can be an advantage since you will be using less food to keep the victim alive. However, despite the differences, Blood Potion and Blood Merlot essentially serve the same purpose: storing blood for later use.
