Water Discipline is one of the earliest skillsets that the game teaches you. Every time you’re playing, notice the bluish vertical bar on the left-hand side of the screen. This bar shows how hydrated your character is at the moment. Over time, as you explore the hot planet surface, the hydration level will decrease. If it ever reaches zero, you will die. So, you’ll need to hydrate regularly to stay up on your feet.

The game offers various ways to ensure that you get a steady supply of water. However, whether you’re collecting dew from plant leaves or drinking out of water containers, they won’t offer respite for too long. The best course of action is to improve the Water Discipline itself.

How To Improve Water Discipline in Dune Awakening

You will need to research Water Discipline by opening up your Research Menu. Doing so will provide you with schematics of several items that can either help you get more water or reduce the rate at which your hydration level drops. Make sure to focus on the following items during research:

Stillsuits
Dew Extractors
Blood Extractors and Purifiers

Stillsuits will help transform your bodily fluids into drinkable water. So, whenever you’re planning to traverse a huge stretch of the desert on foot, make sure you have the Stillsuit on. Dew extractors, on the other hand, improve how much water you collect from plants in the form of dew.

Perhaps the most useful, though, is the Blood Extractor and Purifier research. The former will help you to extract blood from fallen enemies. You will need to craft and equip Blood Sacks to collect blood. Once you have collected enough blood, you can deposit it in the Blood Purifier tool. This tool will extract water from the blood you deposit, ensuring you always have a steady supply whenever you return to your sub-fief.

Lastly, also invest in researching and crafting vehicles as soon as you can. These will cut down your travel time through the desert, which means you do not lose as much hydration. Besides that, your sandbike can also be upgraded to include storage space, where you can store some water containers for the journey ahead.
