In this guide, we’ll explore how you can find the Planetologist advanced trainer in Dune Awakening and some of the quests you’ll do for him.

If you’re starting out in Dune Awakening, you should know that you’ll need to pick your class when creating a character. All classes require you to find their associated trainers out in the world and complete some of their contracts. That’s the only way to learn, improve existing class abilities, and unlock new ones. Each class also has normal and advanced trainers, so you’ll eventually need to seek out the advanced trainer if you want to continue improving your class abilities.
Planetologist is one of the five classes in the game. However, unlocking this particular class can be trickier than the others. You’ll find the trainer you want near Griffin’s Reach Tradepost. In this guide, we’ll explore the exact location of the Planetologist advanced trainer in Dune Awakening.
How To Find the Planetologist Advanced Trainer in Dune Awakening

The Planetologist class doesn’t have different trainers for normal and advanced tier skills. Instead, there’s only one trainer you need to meet. His name is Derek Chinara. The first time you meet him, he will be just east of the Griffin’s Reach Tradepost area. The exact spot is just above the Imperial Testing Station No. 2. He can be difficult to spot at first, so make sure you check all of the small pathways tucked away between the rocks here.
Once you find Chinara, speak with him and he’ll send you on the first of many contracts. Completing this contract will unlock the Planetologist’s skills. Head inside Testing Station No. 2 nearby. The area will be full of enemies, so clear them as you proceed further in. You’ll soon reach a room with a winding staircase going down. Head downstairs and find a glowing bookshelf to the right. Interact with the bookshelf to recover the Minimic Film.
This is the item Chinara wanted you to retrieve. Once you return to him with the Minimic Film, you will unlock the Planetologist skill tree.

To advance your Planetologist skills further, you’ll need to find Chinara once more, but he won’t be at the same spot as before. Instead, you’ll need to head to the West Vermilius region and drop down into the Imperial Testing Station No. 197. There, when you speak to him, you’ll start the Buried Archives quest. He will once again ask you to recover a Minimic Film for him from inside the Testing Station. When you do so and bring it back to the trainer, you will unlock the Level 2 Planetologist skills.
