Dragon Age: The Veilguard revamps the series’ combat by making it more up close and personal. A consequence of this decision compels you to die more than any other Dragon Age game. This is especially true for the early game where you’re still learning the intricacies of the combat and the enemy patterns and behaviors. When you die, it’s not game over and restart. In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you can revive and continue from where you were slain, provided you meet certain conditions.

In this guide, we shall cover the Revival Charges in Dragon Age: The Veilguard and where you can find them.

How Does Revival Work in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Each time you fall in battle in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you can either load a recent save or respawn and continue from where you were slain. However, this does not come for free; you require Revival Charges. These Revival Charges aren’t found as consumable items at a merchant’s shop. Instead, they are found as perks for trinkets which can then be tied to and equipment in the game.

To revive, you need trinkets with the revival Revival Charge perk attached. Trinkets such as the Calibration Crystal for Bellara have a +1 Revival Charge. This allows Bellara to revive you once. You also have trinkets for the other six companions in the game, which they can use to revive you. This ensures you are not locked into picking certain companions if you wish to be revived.

These Revival Charges are useful early in the game when you’re figuring your way around the mechanics and combat. They are also useful in the final stretch of the game, when you meet difficult bosses.

Other Equipment You Can Use

There are also other similar companion equipment and trinkets, such as Creator’s Chisel or the Simple Oil And Stone, which you can find at Merchant shops across the map with Revival Charges attached to them. These items fall in the 250-350 Gold range, so we recommend saving up for this equipment. Rook, too, has a Tincture Kit Healing Belt, which comes with a Revival Charge when upgraded to Epic tier. Lastly, you can use enchantments for amulets that grant an additional Revival Charge if you have leveled up the Caretaker to Rank 9.
