Which Character Dies During The Final Mission in Dragon Age: The Veilguard?
Solas will supposedly die during the final mission of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. However, the Inquisitor will also join him in death if you have made some other specific choices in the game. During the final cutscene, you will have an option to fight, trick, or save Solas. Choosing any of the options will result in his death by being absorbed into the Veil. All endings of Dragon Age: The Veilguard lead to Solas’ death in the final mission, and there is no preventing it.
You will get the option to save Solas only if you have completed specific actions. Mainly, you should have convinced Mythal to hand over her essence and ensured that the Inquisitor wants to reunite with Solas. In this scenario, the Inquisitor will appear during the last cutscene. Both the characters will share a passionate moment before willingly sacrificing themselves to the Veil.
The Veil is not necessarily a death, but it is implied to be the same. Unless BioWare can cook up another sequel where you can traverse into the Veil, it is safe to assume Solas (and the Inquisitor) have actually died during the final mission of Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
