Former professional League of Legends player Marc Robert Lamont, better known by the online alias Caedrel, is a legend in his own right. He has been a well-known figure in esports for the past ten years, transitioning from player to commentator to full-time Twitch and YouTube streamer and content creator.

Caedrel has the largest League of Legends channel on Twitch and consistently ranks among the best English-language streamers.

Caedral’s Professional Gaming Career

Caedrel joined xPerience eSports Club in May 2015 and played as their midlaner until July of the same year, marking the start of his professional career. He briefly played for Team ALTERNATE (formerly known as ALTERNATE aTTaX); however, he ended the year as a substitute midlaner for Giants Gaming.

Lamont joined the European Challenger Series’ Renegades Banditos in January 2016. He spent the remainder of 2016 playing for numerous other teams after Renegades’ League of Legends lineup was dissolved in May of that year owing to a number of problems.

Caedrel became a substitute for H2k-Gaming in 2017. Following a four-month stint with Schalke 04 Esports, where they finished second in the EUCS Summer Split, he rejoined H2k-Gaming as a member of their main lineup. During this time, Caedrel defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas 3–0 on August 25, 2017, earning him his first promotion to the European League Championship Series.

Caedrel became the primary jungler for Excel Esports on December 2, 2018, where they would place ninth in the Spring Splits and tenth in the Summer Splits during the 2019 LEC season. In 2020, after yet another unsuccessful season, Caedrel posted a video to Twitter (now X) announcing his retirement from professional play.

On January 31, 2020, Caedrel played his first game as a caster in a match between Fnatic and his old squad, Schalke 04 Esports. When Caedrel was chosen to be one of the casters for the tournament’s final at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California, in 2022, along with Clayton “CaptainFlowers” Raines and Sam “Kobe” Hartman-Kenzler, it was his last international match. He became extremely popular during this time.

Marc’s Streaming Career

Caedrel was already exploring streaming on his Twitch account while working as a professional player and caster, but his first event as a full-time streamer was the 2023 League of Legends World Championship in South Korea. Three videos on his YouTube channel received at least one million views by October 2024, all during this tournament.

Caedrel became an official co-streamer for Fnatic for the 2024 LEC season after joining them in January 2024 as a content creator and streamer. However, on December 14, 2024, he left the group.

He was the most-watched co-streamer during the 2024 League of Legends World Championship, with a peak viewership of 372 thousand, the highest in his channel’s history, and the most-watched English-language streamer throughout the entire World Championship. He co-streamed the tournament both virtually and in person on three occasions, including the Final between Bilibili Gaming and T1 at The O2 Arena in London. Currently, he has 1.1 million followers on Twitch and 493K subscribers on YouTube.
