How Shadow Magic Sorcerer Becomes OP in Baldur’s Gate 3

Firstly, when you play as a Shadow Magic Sorcerer, you naturally unlock Eyes of the Dark and Strength of the Grave at Level 1. Eyes of the Dark can help massively in the early game, especially when you reach Underdark. Strength of the Grave can help you out in difficult situations in the early stages of the game where you are mostly ill-equipped and under-leveled in some fights.
Level 3 is where you unlock the main feature of your class – Darkness and Eyes of the Dark: Darkness. Both these actions envelop areas in darkness, which can benefit you heavily if used strategically. Ranged enemies can become much easier to defeat due to them being not able to shoot in and out of Eyes of the Dark: Darkness.
At Level 6 you get your companion, Hound of Ill Omen. This action allows you to summon Nimbus, a shadow mastiff. He can use Ominous Bite and possibly inflict the Omen status on enemies, which gives you sorcery points back after using correct attacks. Umbral Tangle can help you trap enemies far from you. Splinter Shadow is the special ability of the hound where it can replicate if not hit with Radiant damage.
Finally, at Level 11, you can learn Shadow Walk, which is a bonus action that allows you to teleport freely within shadows. This unlocks massive traversal potential, which allows you to place yourself much more strategically during battles. Combined with all the other abilities, Shadow Magic Sorcerer can exercise authority on the whole battlefield using darkness and shadows.
