Wuchang Fallen Feathers: Best Spear Build

In this guide, we shall go over the best spear build in Wuchang Fallen Feathers, so you can have the highest damage output with the weapon.

Wuchang Fallen Feathers Patch Notes 1.3 (July 24) Performance Optimizations, Bug Fixes, And More.
The latest patch finally introduces performance optimizations

Wuchang Fallen Feathers has a ton of weapons to pick from, and each weapon caters to a different playstyle. The long swords, one-handed swords, and dual blades are for frantic fights up close, while the axes are for slow and methodical fights. While both of these playstyles are exciting in their own right, nothing comes close to the thrill of wielding a spear.

The spear is a fast-paced weapon that allows you to engage with enemies from a distance, ensuring you’re safe for the most part. The weapon also comes with a flashy move set that ensures you look as cool as possible in every fight you take.

The spear is one of the most fun weapons to use, but finding the best build for it isn’t an easy task. There are multiple spears to pick from, each with a distinct weapon skill. Furthermore, you also need to consider the armor you wear, the items you carry, and the pendants you use. There’s a lot of stuff you need to figure out to find the best spear build, but thankfully, we’re here to walk you through it.

The Steampowered Spear is one of the best spears in the game, if not outright the very best. The spear comes with impressive base damage stats, which we will enhance further with fire damage. The spear has a solid range for its base attacks, and the charged attack extends it further to ensure you’re never at risk.

Best Spear Build: Armor

We recommend using the following pieces of armor for the spear build:

  • North General’s Helmet
  • Bridal Corset
  • North General’s Vambraces
  • Bridal Dress.

While these recommended pieces of armor may seem disjointed and random, they offer the best mix of defense against both physical and elemental attacks. The North General’s Helmet and Vambraces offer tight protection against physical attacks.

The Bridal Dress and Corset, on the other hand, protect you from magic and elemental types. This is especially useful in the mid-to-late game, where elemental hazards are most prevalent.

Best Skills for Spear Build in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

Now that we’ve selected the best weapon and armor, we need to push our build to the next level with the right set of skills. The skills shared below enhance the potency of your spear while also improving your general survivability in the face of harsh challenges.

  • Aerial Bulwark
  • Penetrating Point
  • Furious Stab
  • Manna Potency
  • Manna Capacity

The Aerial Bulwark is one of the best skills in the game. This skill is a hit-and-run skill of sorts that allows you to attack enemies and then fall back to safety. This skill is perfect against bosses. The Penetrating Point skill, too, is perfect for combos as it grants Skyborn Might at the end of a combo.

Since you’ll be using combos a lot against mobs, this is the best way to stock up on the resource. Sticking to dealing with mobs, the Furious Stab is another skill you can deploy to eat up the minions with ease.

Apart from weapon skills, you also need to survive the encounters. The bosses hit harder than a speeding truck with a drunk driver behind the wheel, and your only way to survive is to ensure you have enough healing potential. The Manna Capacity will increase the amount of heals you carry, while the Manna Potency will improve the HP healed with each use.

Lastly, you also have to invest in strength and agility. The Steampowered spear scales with these two stats (especially agility), so it is important to invest in them at regular intervals. We recommend investing one point into strength for every two points into agility. You also need to invest in vitality and endurance. Vitality correlates to your HP, and endurance to your stamina. These two stats are crucial to your overall survivability.

Items To Carry for the Best Spear Build

Now that we’ve settled into our overall weapon build, we also need to bring in items to supplement during battle. Below, we’ve shared all the items you’ll need to boost your odds of survival:

  • Manna Vase
  • Temperance
  • Steamed Bunny Bun
  • Fire Pot
  • Cornucopia Elixir

The Manna Vase is for healing, so this is a non-negotiable item that you must bring to any area. Unlike other soulslikes, the vase equips an item slot, so we’re left with only four more.

For the second slot, we recommend bringing in a Steamed Bunny Bun. This is a backup in case you run out of flasks in the middle of a battle. The bun will heal you slowly, perhaps giving you a second lease of life.

For the third slot, we suggest bringing in the Cornucopia Elixir. This is a special consumable item that heals you and removes all status effects. This is only for worst-case scenarios, so only use the item if you absolutely must. The elixir is incredibly rare, and you can only get a few in a single playthrough, so be very selective when using this item. You can also swap it out with status-effect-related cure items if need be.

For the fourth slot, we suggest a Fire Pot, or any throwable in its place. Since we’re going for a fire-based build, the pot would fit better. This pot is only for worst-case scenarios where you’re low on HP but incredibly close to winning. You can use the pot to finish off enemies in such instances.

Lastly, we recommend bringing in Temperance to imbue your blade with Fire damage. Our whole build is about burning through mobs, and this is the perfect item to complement our build.

Jade Pendant and Benediction

Jade Pendants and Benedictions are the final touches our setup needs to cap off the build. Going with Benedictions first, we recommend using the Burning Might or Burning Ignition. Both of these Benedictions complement the fire-based damage we’re out to inflict.

Burning Might boosts your overall damage each time an enemy burns, allowing you to get stronger when facing mobs. Similarly, Burning Ignition increases your overall fire damage when an enemy burns. If you use the Temperance carefully, you can one-shot most of the tough enemies you face with these two Benedictions. You can also use the Fire Pots to the same effect.

As far as Jade Pendants go, you need the Monkey Pendant, the Eagle Pendant, and the Twin Infant Pendant. The Monkey Pendant increases the power of your throwables, which can make your Fire Pots stronger. The Eagle Pendant makes your stab attacks stronger, which is your main source of damage with spears. Lastly, the Twin Infant Pendant will improve your stamina recovery, so you can handle large crowds without running out of breath.
