Similar to any other souls-like RPG, the true endgame of Wuchang Fallen Feathers is, well, fashion. As you make your way through the Kingdom of Shu, you will unlock a huge collection of outfits for the Pirate Warrior. However, unlike games such as Lies of P and Bloodborne, outfits in Wuchang play a more vital role than just being cosmetics. Every armor piece in Wuchang Fallen Feathers offers different stats and attribute bonuses. These stats are what dictate your defenses against most elemental affinities in the game.

However, the game also features a robust transmog system, which is accessible quite early. Here’s everything you need to know about Wuchang Fallen Feathers’ transmog system and how to alter outfits.

To alter outfits, you need to have unlocked at least two different armor sets. Once you’ve done that, you can simply head into the Inventory menu and alter your outfits from there. Here are the steps you need to follow to alter outfits in Wuchang:

  • Press the Options button on your controller to go to the Inventory menu.
  • Navigate to the Outfits and Loadout section.
  • Select the armor piece you want to customize, and press the Y or Triangle button to alter its appearance.

The transmog system in Wuchang Fallen Feathers is very similar to games like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and even Monster Hunter Wilds. There’s no additional cost attached to using the transmog system, and it can be done via the Inventory menu at any time. It should be noted that there are no hidden requirements for transmog in Wuchang. You get access to transmog right from the very beginning of the game. It’s pretty handy, especially if you’ve bought the Deluxe Edition of the game or even pre-ordered it.

The Deluxe Edition and pre-order bonuses come with a host of different outfits. Having access to transmog pretty early lets you use all these outfits without having to worry about affecting your defensive stats.

How Does Armor Affect Stats in Wuchang Fallen Feathers?

Every armor piece has its stats, offering defensive bonuses against physical or elemental attacks. For instance, some armor sets, like the starting armor, Embroidered, or the Pirate set, offer Blunt and Slash defense; however, at the cost of lower Poise Break, Corruption, and Blight resistance.

Similarly, there are sets like the Souls Ritual or the Dark Specter, which offer decent elemental resistance, but lower physical damage negation. Since there’s no traditional leveling system in Wuchang, armor is essentially the primary factor that dictates the physical or elemental defenses.
