Wuchang Fallen Feathers features several boss fights in classic Soulslike fashion. And, as you’d expect, many of these encounters are completely optional and not tied into the main story. However, finding these optional bosses and putting an end to their rampage is often worthwhile due to the valuable loot they drop. Also, defeating many of these bosses will help you complete side quests from the game’s many friendly NPCs.

In one such instance, you’ll meet an NPC named the Red-Clad Lady. As you progress through the game, you’ll discover that the NPC herself is Bo Magus. The Storyteller will ask you to fight and eliminate Bo Magus, since she plans on enveloping the entire world with her evil red growth. In the following guide, we’ll help you track down Bo Magus in Wuchang Fallen Feathers and defeat her.

Throughout the game, you’ll run into the Red-Clad Lady at multiple spots. However, to fight her in the form of Bo Magus, you’ll need to proceed to the endgame act. In Chapter 4, the Storyteller will finally reveal that the Red-Clad Lady is in fact Bo Magus, and you need to take her down. After accepting his request, you’ll need to proceed to the Tang Palace. Once there, you’ll find the pond where you previously tussled with Commander Honglan. This is where you will find Bo Magus clinging to a tall pillar and firing magical spells at you while she completes her monologue.

At this stage, you can’t attack her. Instead, simply get near her position to make the boss teleport to the next spot. Follow her through the Palace Vegetable Garden, making sure to defeat the Mimic Shrine while on your way. After that, follow Bo Magus to reach a ravine and keep dodging her attacks from above. Reach the Palace Pass shrine, from where you’ll then head to Vermilion Pass and engage in another battle with a much more powerful Commander Honglan.

Once you’ve defeated Honglan, pass through the door that appears and you’ll reach Boatman. Pass him and you’ll end up at the Palace Entrance shrine. Proceed down the shaft, carefully avoiding any of the monstrous enemies in the area. At the very bottom of the shaft, you’ll finally encounter Bo Magus and begin the battle.

Bo Magus mostly relies on her spells for the offensive. Her melee moves are pretty limited. When the battle begins, she’ll unleash her throwing red spears that explode. It’s the same attack that she used when you began pursuing her earlier. The next attack might involve her leaping into the air and firing several homing feathers toward you. Also, watch out for any of her summoned attackers. Usually, these ghostly images have a slow attack speed, making it easier for you to dodge out of the way.

Another move involves the boss performing a quick dance before floating up in the air. She will then channel her power to draw a golden sword from thin air and plunge the blade into the ground. This attack deals AoE damage over a substantial area. You should also watch out for another attack type where Bo Magus fires several homing Feathering orbs toward you. As far as melee attacks go, she can slash at you with her blade. Sometimes, she throws in a spear thrust in between these sword slashes to confuse you and catch you off guard.

After you drain her health by 50%, she’ll enter the second phase. As soon as this happens, she’ll slam her staff on the ground thrice in quick succession, dealing massive AoE damage. Next, she’ll engulf herself in a blue bubble. You’ll need to strike her 10 times to get through this bubble and affect her health. She can cast this blue bubble spell numerous times during this second phase.

Since Bo Magus relies mostly on spells for the offensive, you can close in on her and unleash a flurry of physical attacks without much repercussion. So, we highly suggest relying on your melee attacks, taking advantage of backstabs and heavy attacks to deal massive damage to her. Backstabbing her will knock her down, which you can then follow with a devastating Obliterate attack. You can also use Windforce charged heavy attacks to stun her momentarily and use that window of opportunity to maximize damage.

Another great tip here is to take advantage of Bo Magus’s starting animation, where she gently floats down to the ground. Quickly run up to her before her animation finishes to deal some free damage. This is a great opportunity to get a few stacks of Skyborn Might up and running. If timed correctly, you can even deal a backstab at this point and then Obliterate to eat away at a chunk of her health before the actual fight even begins. After that, you can simply dodge her spells or spam Ethereal Form to auto-dodge while attacking.

During the second phase of the battle, you’ll have to be a bit more patient, as you have to strike her 10 times to break through the bubble enveloping her. Once you get through, a mixture of heavy attacks and backstabs should continue to do the trick.
