The Bo Sorcerer in Wuchang Fallen Feathers is one of the hardest optional boss fights in the game. Here’s how you beat her.

The Bo Sorcerer in Wuchang Fallen Feathers is one of the toughest boss battles in the game. She is a mid-game boss that is difficult to fight against due to her fast moves and one-shot grabs, especially her water elemental abilities. The fight takes place in the Avian Marsh, an optional area linked to the white-robed elder questline (Even Bo Sorcerer is related).
Full of swamps and loop-arounds, the level makes you realize the number of status effects in the game. Here’s how you can beat the Bo Sorcerer in Wuchang Fallen Feathers.
How To Reach Bo Sorcerer in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

You will encounter the Bo Sorcerer in a white flower field inside the lush green forests surrounding the Avian Dwelling and Avian Marsh shrines in Mt. Zhenhu. Finding these two locations is pretty linear; you have to explore Mt. Zhenhu and continue till Battlefield Pass. You will meet the white-robed elder at the refugee camp. If you interact with him, he can be summoned in the Bo Sorcerer fight. You will find a ladder beside him, and you will reach the Avian Marsh, where you have to explore further till you reach Avian Dwelling and activate the shrines there.
After activating the Avian Dwelling Shrine, you have to explore the area (it is linear, so you will eventually unlock the shortcut). Create a bridge out of a tree to unlock the shortcut, and you will find the boss arena to the right.
Bo Sorcerer Attacks and Patterns

The Bo Sorcerer has two phases, where more magical attacks follow on the second. Note that most of her high-damage attacks are magical. Bo Sorcerer is well known for always closing the range with her attacks. So, it is advised to maintain a closer distance from her during the boss fight. Here are all of her attacks and moves that she can use to attack you:
Phase One
- Regular Sword Attacks: Default Sword Attacks of Bo Sorcerer; max is three slashes.
- Leaping Attacks: The boss backflips in the air and charges with a sword slash, followed by a few projectiles and a spinning attack.
- Tri-Slash: Three slashing sword attacks with strong tracking, leaving her open for a heavy attack at the end.
- Corkscrew: If you maintain a large distance from the boss, chances are she will use this up to four times. She dashes in a corkscrew motion, with no deflects available.
- Water Orbs: She wraps herself in water, channeling two orbs of water that will explode on impact. It also explodes after reaching max range. High damage, low tracking, but fast.
- Airborne Ground Slam: Rises into the air and holds herself up, then suddenly slams into the ground at high speed. The boss glows to indicate when she will land.
- Wave Slash into Ground Slam: Leaps in the air and throws ranged slashes of her magic four times. The last slash is immediately followed by a ground slam.
Phase Two
- Waterspout: This attack indicates that her second phase has begun. She becomes invulnerable and throws out multiple waterspouts that track. It only happens once during the boss fight. High damage, but slow projectiles.
- Quad Slash: The boss extends her tri-slash with an additional ranged slash.
- Light Waves: Bo Sorcerer will start throwing magic sword slashes with her default and ground-based moves from phase one.
How To Beat Bo Sorcerer in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

The Bo Sorcerer’s attacks are mostly sword and magic based, coupled with a few airborne attacks that have to be dodged. So, you can run the entire fight deflecting her while dodging AOE attacks. The main pointer to beating her is the animation cues that she provides to the player. This makes dodging her attacks far easier and even deflects them if you’re brave enough.
The boss hits like a truck, so it is advised to just dodge the attacks, as she will take almost half of your HP with every heavy attack. Plus, you can get hit while you’re down, which is contrary to other soulslikes, which makes getting hit even more punishable. Maintaining a good distance away from the boss can help you cheese the fight, as she will only execute the wave slash move. Dodge a few projectiles, then when her feet begin to glow, dodge instantly, as the animation is very fast when she lands. After you dodge, land a heavy attack, which breaks her poise and lets you counter hit. This strategy will help you take down the boss very safely throughout both her phases.
When the boss begins her phase 2, make sure to run away, as the tornadoes only track you for a small distance. The tree on the side of the arena also helps you avoid her frost attacks, but not the wave slashes. For some reason, the waves clip through and hit the player, but not frost attacks. If you have interacted with the white-robed elder at the refugee camp, you can summon him using the bone whistle. He will tank most attacks, as he has a large HP pool.
Rewards After Beating Bo Sorcerer in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

After defeating the Bo Sorcerer in Wuchang Fallen Feathers, you will receive two items. Echo of the Bo Sorcerer and a Copper Drum. The Echo of the Bo Sorcerer unlocks one of her frost spells used in the fight, while the Copper Drum unlocks a new item in Tao Qings Shop (you have to give the copper drum to him). The Copper Drums will unlock the Peace Pendant at 11500 Red Mercury. Equipping this pendant increases your weapon’s blunt attack power.
