In Wuchang Fallen Feathers, you will take on a variety of bosses, both humanoid and monstrous. Some of them pose a significant challenge, especially when you run into them the first time around. A prime example of this is the Monstrous Toddler – Bai Kru boss. It’s a boss that you face off against at the very start of the game.

And, at that point, you might feel completely unprepared to tackle this battle. Fortunately, you can return to the area and take on Bai Kru later on, when you’re much more powerful. In this guide, we’ll explore how you can locate and defeat Bai Kru in Wuchang Fallen Feathers.

How To Find Monstrous Toddler Bai Kru in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

The first time you encounter Bai Kru will be just after you meet the Boatman, after exiting Reverent Temple. This happens at the very beginning of the game, and Bai Kru acts as a tutorial boss at this point. Don’t expect to survive the fight the first time you meet this boss, because you’re simply too under-leveled at this juncture. Instead, you can return for a rematch later on by following He Youzai’s questline. You’ll need to head to the Bai Mansion. Keep in mind that you can only access this area once you complete the Fierce Tiger boss battle in the Zhenwu Temple.

After these conditions are met, you can go to the Zhenwu Altar shrine and head through a cave to reach the Ferry Overlook shrine. Head down the hill from this spot and you’ll meet the Boatman once more. He will allow you to take his boat across the water and finally enter Bai Mansion for revenge against the boss. Inside this mansion are no other enemies apart from Bai Kru. However, make sure to speak to He Youzai, who’ll offer you some assistance in the fight ahead. Head further in to trigger a cutscene, following which the boss fight starts.

The battle at the Bai Mansion occurs in two phases. Here’s a list of the moves the boss can perform in each phase.

First Phase Moves

  • The battle begins when Bai Kru jumps into the air and slams down at your position.
  • Basic attack involves three quick claw strikes. Watch out for the one-handed and two-handed variations of this move.
  • Bai Kru will perform two backflips to gain some distance. These moves also deal a bit of damage to you if you’re close by.
  • The boss might also spew an acidic liquid toward you from time to time. Make sure you dodge these and don’t come into contact with the acid while it’s on the ground.
  • You should also be wary of his grab attack, where it seems like he’s coming in for a hug.
  • Bai Kru can roar and stun you. Make sure to button mash out of the stun effect quickly.

Second Phase Moves

During the second phase, the boss will employ the same moves as the first phase. However, expect the attacks to be more frequent. Apart from that, you’ll also face a couple of new moves during this stage of the fight.

  • He now has an air blast attack, which can deal significant damage if it hits you.
  • The boss might also unleash attacks using the tentacles that sprout from his chest.

The Bai Kru boss fight can be quite simple, especially this late into the game when you’ve already dealt with tougher foes, such as Liu Wenxiu and the Fierce Tiger. All of Bai Kru’s attacks are telegraphed, which means you can easily learn its attack patterns and anticipate its moves. Apart from this, you can also call in He Youzai to lend you a hand during the fight to make things even simpler. The ally can take quite a bit of damage, which means you get considerable openings to launch your own attacks at the boss.

Besides that, you can also use the flanking approach to damage the boss without opening yourself up for a counterattack. Like most monstrous bosses in the game, Bai Kru can only attack in the front. He doesn’t have any side or back attacks as such. Using Ethereal Form is another great way to endure the entire fight without taking any considerable damage. If you’re playing a longsword build, it becomes even simpler as you stack Skyborn Might on every third attack using the sword.

Tip: You can defeat Bai Kru during the opening sequence of the game. However, the fight is much more challenging, and you’ll need to master every move of the boss to perfectly dodge and counter them while managing your limited stamina levels.
