In many of these fights, you might need to buff your stats ever so slightly to gain an upper edge, both before or during combat. This is where the Aurum Feather comes in and can be a clutch item, although with a bit of RNG.
Aurum Feather is fairly common, and you can get it easily if you keep your eyes open while exploring. Since the game does not tell you about it, you might completely ignore its source and miss out on a significant number of them. How To Get Aurum Feather in Wuchang Fallen Feathers
You can only get Aurum Feathers by killing the Cuckoos that you spot in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. These Cuckoos can be found right from the beginning of the game, and they have red eyes and yellow, glowy wingtips. Simply hit these once, and they will drop one Aurum Feather. You can carry a maximum of 99 Aurum Feathers at any given point, with the option to carry 999 more in your storage.
In many cases, Cuckoos will be perched on high ground or on locations that your melee attacks cannot hit. In such times, simply lock-on to the bird and use ranged spells like the Vorpal Sword to hit it. These Cuckoos do not leave their position or fly away, and are always stationary. Moreover, they die in a single hit from any damage source.
What Does Aurum Feather Do in Wuchang Fallen Feathers?
Aurum Feather does one of these three things at random in Wuchang Fallen Feathers:
- Raises your maximum health for a short while.
- Increases your maximum Stamina for a short while.
- Boosts all of your attacks for a short duration.
Once you use an Aurum Feather, any one of the above effects will take place. This is based on RNG, and there is no way to know which one actually happens. You can use more than one Aurum Feather at a given point.
How To Use Aurum Feathers in Wuchang Fallen Feathers
There are two ways to use the Aurum Feather:
- Head to your Inventory, select Aurum Feather, and then use the item.
- Set Aurum Feather as one of your four quickslot items and use it with the respective input.
You can use an Aurum Feather anytime while playing the game, even during battles. It counts as a consumable item, but its mechanic is more like absorption. As such, it is instantaneous, unlike the healing process where Wuchang remains vulnerable for a few seconds.
