Although the Reverent Temple is the first area, you will get the Key to open its courtyard doors much later in Wuchang Fallen Feathers.
As you start the story in Wuchang Fallen Feathers, the very first area that you set foot into is the Reverent Temple. After you are done talking to all the relevant NPCs here, you set out into a giant courtyard where a few enemies await you. In the left corner of this courtyard, a particularly strong enemy will guard a door. To open this door, you will need the Reverent Temple Key.
You will automatically get the Reverent Temple Key during the later stages of the game organically, after beating a rather tough boss. This article explores when you will get the Reverent Temple Key in Wuchang Fallen Feathers, and what the door eventually unlocks.
When Do You Get The Reverent Temple Key in Wuchang Fallen Feathers?
You will automatically get the Reverent Temple Key after beating Commander Honglan in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. She is the fifth main boss in the story, that you will encounter roughly around 8 hours into the game.
Commander Honglan’s fight takes place much later in the game, in the Tang Emperor’s Palace. She is also the first human boss that you will fight in the game, and is a rather tough fight as well.
You will come across several other courtyard keys in the meantime, and they will open almost instantly. However, this is the one exception, and for good reason.
What Does The Reverent Temple Key Unlock?
The Reverent Temple Key unlocks the door which eventually leads to Cloudspire. This is the fourth main region in the game, and you need to visit it as a part of the main story after beating Commander Honglan in Tang Emperor’s Palace. Cloudspire is an area of icy winds, and you will encounter the Frostbite status effect here.
When you go to unlock this gate, you will find Nian Suichang standing outside it. Talk to him after opening the gate and he will give you some Spicy Soup. This consumable item is useful in the Cloudspire region of Wukong Fallen Feathers since it alleviates the Frostbite effect.
