Wuchang Fallen Feathers is an amazing soulslike, but is it so good that you sit through it all over again in NG+?

Wuchang Fallen Feathers is one of the best soulslike games we’ve played in a long while. The game brings back the same magic we felt back in Dark Souls in 2011, and exploring the game’s massive map is an absolute joy (and also incredibly stressful). There’s a ton of content in the game, and it will take you anywhere between 25-40 hours before you see the credits roll. But what next?

Wuchang Fallen Feathers has a NG+ mode, meaning you can play through the game again, retaining all of your character upgrades and weapons for the new playthrough. But since the game is so long and quite frankly stressful, is NG+ worth your time? We believe it is.

While you may think you’ve experienced all the game has to offer in your 25-40 hour playthrough, there’s a ton more to uncover in Wuchang’s NG+ journey. We shall discuss this in detail below.

As stated earlier, NG+ is absolutely worth your time in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. This is because the game has multiple endings, and each ending is drastically different from the other. There’s a lot of story yet to uncover, and we recommend playing NG+ if you love the game’s unique lore.

As far as difficulty goes, NG+ allows you to indulge in a power fantasy unlike any other. The enemies scale up to you, yes, but they do it at a much slower rate. This means, for most of your NG+ playthrough, you’ll be conveniently overlevelled for the challenges you face. This makes the game less stressful, but still keeps it fairly challenging.

Lastly, the game has multiple weapon types, and each type plays drastically differently from the other. In our case, we did our first playthrough with an axe, while we did the NG+ experimenting with longswords and dual blades. The playstyles are all very different, and this keeps things fresh.
