Some of the optional bosses in Wuchang Fallen Feathers can be punishingly brutal, but should you be killing them?
Bosses are a staple of any Soulslike game, and Wuchang Fallen Feathers is no exception in that regard. The game has plenty of bosses for you to face, and each of these bosses tests your mettle in different ways. If you wish to survive, you have to use all the tools at your disposal, or you will perish.
If the challenge gets too easy, however, the game also has optional bosses you can take on. Optional bosses are fairly challenging, so much so that you may feel inclined to skip them altogether. Despite the challenge, we recommend killing optional bosses as they have a ton of rewards they give you. We shall discuss this in detail below:

To Kill or Not To Kill the Optional Bosses in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

As stated earlier, you should kill optional bosses in Wuchang Fallen Feathers as they hold a ton of rewards. These rewards range from loot such as Red Mercury Essence to key items like the Shu Sanctum Key. They can also help you unlock powerful items such as armor sets, pendants, and more. All of the rewards, while not necessary, still help you progress through the game much smoothly.
Furthermore, these bosses are challenging and help you improve your overall skills in the game. In our case, fighting Feathered Priest – Lu Bingzhang helped us understand the importance of consumables early in the game. As we suffered through a flurry of Corruption hits, we were forced to utilize consumables to tackle the status effect. Now, later in the game, consumables are integral to our arsenal.
More so than skill and rewards, some of the optional bosses also help you progress through NPC questlines. As you go about exploring the world of Wuchang Fallen Feathers, you’ll find many NPCs sharing details about their goals and lives. Talking to certain NPCs after beating optional bosses helps unlock new dialogue to progress their questlines.
