The White-Robed Elder Questline is one of the longer questlines in Wuchang Fallen Feathers. Here’s how to do it.
One of Wuchang Fallen Feathers’ longer questlines is the White-Robed Elder quest. This questline spans multiple locations and interactions with a white-robed man who is generally surrounded by numerous corpses, hinting at his identity during the beginning. This questline will have you teleporting everywhere, but helpfully, Wuchang Fallen Feathers has an NPC marker in their teleport HUD to help you complete their quests. He is the NPC whose quests you need to complete to get the true ending of the game. Here’s how you can complete the White-Robed Elder Questline.
Guide for White-Robed Elder Quest in Wuchang Fallen Feathers
From this point onwards, the article is going to include a lot of spoilers for Wuchang Fallen Feathers. Let’s go through each location of the White-Robed Elder and figure out what to do next to progress his quest.
First Meeting
The first meeting with the White-Robed Elder would be near Shu’s Sanctum (Worship’s Rise.) He is sitting on the walkway on the second floor of the Shu Sanctum. You are rewarded with a plumed branch after you finish his dialogue.
Second Meeting
Once you reach Doomwillow Beach (Worship’s Rise), go to the shrine. From the shrine, you have to walk up to the top of the hill until you spot his white robe. You obtain a crystallized red mercury after the dialogue ends.
Third Meeting (Skippable)
Next is the snow area of Cloudspire Outskirts. Locate the shrine and a tower close to it, and you should see him outside the tower on the wooden path. If you do not spot him, it might be due to him exploring the cave that leads to Mt. Zhenwu.
If you had met him there, he would not spawn in this location anymore, but you would not be locked out of the questline. The White-robed Elder gives you another crystallized red mercury after this encounter.
Fourth Meeting
The 4th location is in Hillswatch (Cloudspire.) From the shrine of Hillswatch, cross the gap and go inside the mining cave. The white-robed elder will be in the upper sections of the mines, standing there menacingly. You get a flawless red mercury after you meet him.
Fifth Meeting (Important Option for Quest)
After completing the cave, you will reach Battlefield Pass. Travel through the Pass, and you will reach the refugee camp, where the white-robed elder is standing, on the opposite side of the camp on a plateau. You are asked to help him against a demon. Saying “Yes” to the request will progress his quest.
Sixth Meeting (Boss Fight)
In Mt. Zhenwu, fight your way through the Avian Marsh area, and reach past the Lantern-wielding monk and Manna Vase chest, where you will see an opening towards the forest area. In the forest area, you will see the White-Robed Elder waiting for you by the clearing. After talking with him, you now have to reach the boss fight area.
Before reaching the boss area, unlock the shortcut first, as it is one of the hardest fights in the game. Follow the path around the Avian Village till you find the shortcut to the Avian Dwelling Shrine. Then, go along the main path till you reach Bo Sorcerer, one of the hardest boss fights in the game.
The demon that the White-robed elder in Wuchang Fallen Feathers mentioned is Bo Sorcerer. You can summon him for the boss fight, where he will help you tank a lot of her fast attacks. To summon him, simply use the bone whistle item used to summon an ally in battle.
Seventh Meeting
After defeating the Bo Sorcerer, head to the path beyond the arena, where there is a bamboo shoot appearance as you cross a giant tree bridge. You will see the elder standing on the opposite side. For helping him, you will receive the Tigraliz Pendant.
Final Meeting
The final step to this quest only gets triggered after you reach the fifth major location, or Bo’s Capital. You have to enable the first shrine and teleport back to the Avian Dwelling. Once you arrive at the previous boss arena, you will be met with Zhao Yun, the White-robed Elder, who is a legendary general. This boss fight is one of the toughest fights in the game, as his grab attacks deal a lot of damage.
Rewards for Defeating the White-Robed Elder in Wuchang Fallen Feathers
Defeating the White-robed Elder Zhao Yun will reward you with a number of rewards:
- Cyan Feather Chisel-Unlocks Temper Acupoint slot.
- Spell-Echo of Zhao Yun
- Tao Qing item-Enables purchase of the Malice Sting spear.
- Armor-Loyalty set. You have to use the Worship Emote in front of the Faces of the Past shrine.
