Twitch and Kick streamer xQc was stunned after receiving an $8,888 donation during his charity livestream supporting LA fire relief efforts.
After receiving a donation of $8,888 Kick and Twitch streamer Felix “xQc” already reached his goal of $10,000 for the charity livestream. The donation popping up on the screen left the streamer awestruck. Felix hosted a charity livestream for the recent wildfire tragedy in Los Angeles. The ex-professional Overwatch player set a goal of $10,000, which the donation helped him achieve.
“Bro, 8888 dollar donation what? with no comment? Dude, I gotta double-check this. Guys hold on, I really just… I gotta double-check this.”
After the donation, the bar did not fill up which left the viewers puzzled. A viewer asked why the bar didn’t increase, and Felix explained that the donation went directly to his personal account.
XQc then asked the donor if he wanted to donate to the charity or the streamer himself. He stated that he would transfer it over to the charity and pay the taxes on the donation himself. After a while, the donor stated that it was for the charity to which Felix replied by saying “I got you”.
“Yo, by the way, I’m not trying to scam you by donating more. Okay? If you donate, like, three bucks with the same ID, so send PayPal, and then you tell me that it was for the charity, I will transfer it over. I will pay the taxes on it. All good!
Among the contributors, Twitch participated by donating the equivalent of “8 spins” in monetary value. For context, a “spin” refers to the cost of a single round on the online slot machine games that Felix plays. A spin costs $1000, xQc’s chat often refers to anything of that value as a spin. Felix was shocked once again after Twitch’s donation and remarked:
“Um… hello? Eight what? Anyway, much love, man. Thank you so much to Twitch and everybody else over there. Really appreciate that. Thank you. Much love.”
xQc’s Wildfire Statement Sparks Debate Over Firefighting Techniques
Earlier on January 12, 2025, xQc stated that if the firefighters “bombed” the borders of the fire, to prevent it from spreading further. Many netizens wrote that it would be a dangerous step to take. While some stated that it was an actual firefighting technique to prevent the spread of fires. DramaAlert posted the clip on X calling xQc “intellectually challenged”.

Many users called out the post including the community notes, which stated that controlled fires are set ahead of fires to remove vegetation and create barriers. The note also mentioned that it is often used alongside water and fire retardants. Some users’ comments stated:
