Inability to buy proper food or rent a bed to sleep in from time to time can put the player character under severe status ailments. The following ways will help you earn enough Groschen to make the starting hours of the game much simpler. Some of these tips can be used anytime you are short on cash.

- Participate in and win the Trosky archery competition
- Solve treasure maps for easy loot

1. Find the Cabbage Thief and Tell on Him to Bailiff Thrush
If you are looking for an early game trick to get a lot of money, go to the South of Semine Castle in the Trosky region. You’ll find a river here, with a road winding into the forest. Look around this region to discover a cave, and inside it a man named Pepa. During the conversation with him, you learn that he is a thief. He’s stealing cabbages to make special sauerkraut. If you don’t report him, you can sell any cabbages you find during your journey to him, and he’ll give you his sauerkraut. It is a powerful healing item.
However, if you rat him out to Bailiff Thrush in Troskowitz, you will get a reward of 800 Troschen. That is a substantial amount, especially in the beginning portions of the game.
Keep in mind that reporting Pepa will forever remove him from the map, and you will not be able to obtain the healing items from him in the future. Later on in the game, you will find enough healing potions, though. So, it shouldn’t make much of a difference, but the shiny Groschen pouch surely does early on.
2. Sell Armor and Other Valuable Items
As you traverse through the world of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, you’ll come face to face with bandits who’ll attack you on sight. After you kill them, don’t forget to loot their bodies. For the early game, take all armor and weapons they drop. A bit later on, you can prioritize stripping off enemy items worth more than 100 Groschen.
Note that you can only carry a limited weight of items at any time, especially before you get specific perks that increase carry capacity. However, there is a way around this as well. You can store some of your unneeded but valuable loot in your horse’s inventory. This gives you plenty of room to carry significant loot before heading for a merchant.
Although merchants in the game do not offer full value for the items you sell, this tactic should help you to accumulate several hundred or even thousands of Groschen in a matter of hours.

3. Look for a Fence To Sell Stolen Items
If you are someone who doesn’t mind stealing in RPGs, you can easily gather a lot of coin in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. There are thousands of valuable items to steal across the game world. Unfortunately, you cannot just walk in with your stolen goods and sell them at regular merchants. Instead, you will have to find a fence who’ll look the other way when you part with your illicit goods.
You can find a fence just west of Bozhena’s home, in the Nomads’ camp.
Also, if you want to become a master thief, make sure you learn all about lockpicking early on. Go to Lower Semine Mill to get trained on pickpocketing and lockpicking. These skills will make your life as a thief much easier. Besides getting wealthy quickly, stealing will also improve your thievery skills. It will come in handy later on in the game.

4. Participate In and Win the Trosky Archery Competition
During your quest to find Mutt, you’ll eventually learn of an archery competition that’s taking place in Trosky. If you decide to participate in this competition, you can start by taking on two amateur archers with the beginner difficulty mode. Beat them, and you can double what you bet. So, if you bet 10 Groschen, you’ll earn 20 more when you win. And you can keep repeating this to earn a fair bit of coin.
Then, once you’re confident about your archery skills, you can challenge tougher opponents in the competition. Needless to say, you’ll earn far more on these more difficult rounds. To participate in the competition, head to the western part of the Trosky region, just before you reach the lakes.
5. Solve Treasure Maps for Easy Loot
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 allows you to find treasure maps and then search for the linked treasure. You will generally come to possess these maps by simply taking part in side quests and other activities. While the maps themselves are difficult to read and not very helpful, you should still try and locate these treasures.
For instance, during the ‘Lackey’ side mission, you will likely find your first treasure map of the game. Go to the northern region past Vidlak Pond, and you’ll discover a hollow tree. From this point, go downstream to reach a washed-up chest. Inside, you’ll discover 300 Groschen and a crucifix that you can sell for more than 1400 Groschen.
